We drove from Carson Springs Resort to Goldendale (both in Washington near the Columbia River), then back down into Oregon and west on I-84 and a whole bunch of other roads to Florence, Oregon on the coast. We're going to check out the exploding whale beach and the labyrinth festival.

The day before that I drove my Bronco from Carson Hot Springs up to Ape Cave and a pretty good photo spot for pictures of Mt. St. Helens.

The day before that we were staying at the Best Western in Government Camp and my wife's sister wanted to go have dinner at Timberline Lodge. Off we went. It was the most foo-foo dinner I've ever had. The death-defying part was when it was time to go. We barely made it down the stairs at the lodge and across the parking lot, as it was covered in a layer of ice. Also it was very windy. My Bronco OBX mall crawler was being put to the test. When I put her into reverse would she back up, or just spin her wheels as we slid forward over the slope and down the cliff? I put her into slippery mode and she backed up and then got us back down the mountain road with total ease.

I really like my '22 Bronco OBX. She got 23 mpg on our trip from Carson to Florence today. That 2.7 lliter engine runs like a champ. I was listening to country and truck driving tunes on the way, via Apple Car Play. Nothin' like it.
