Took my boys to Colorado and got to do some mild wheeling up a trail I usually take my sxs up.

I really like the availability of the pre packaged GOAT modes and the modularity of manually selecting 4wd mode and locker combination. Front trail cam is also great. Made picking lines and avoiding bashers easier without a spotter. Trail cam automatically pulled up; unsure if it was 4 lo or the rear locker that triggered it. Regardless, really fun on road vehicle that is very capable off road. Less nannies than my Rubicon.

Trans temps did get higher than normal coming down steep grades on the interstate and while in 4 lo, but nothing concerning.

Why were you on the interstate in 4 LO? Curious minds would like to know.

Just read your comment again. You didn't say you were in 4 Lo on the interstate, my mistake.

Beautiful scenery btw. Thanks for the photos.

Nailed it!

I'm in the North Fork area entirely too much to have never been so I drug my boys out to have a peak. Pretty f ing epic
Yeah, that is an underappreciated place. We were there in September a couple years ago and really enjoyed it. The drops down into the canyon are absolutely vertigo inducing in many places.

This is ‘Off-Road’ for many people. For me, it’s just a day at the Mall.

congrats on getting her out there. Glad you appreciated the GOAT modes. I never ever use mine. Just 4L or sometimes 4H. but glad people are using them to justify their inclusion.

Did you smack anything up?

I’m such a PUS&Y I won’t take my BBR off-road. I’ll always 👋🏼 though!

Vertigo is right. We hiked down a Gunnison trail so steep, it had a long chain on one section to allow climbing. Tent camped at the bottom by the river. It was a hell of a hike back up.

I didn't smack anything. And I actually didn't use a goat mode; my 23 wildtrak doesn't have rock crawl. I used 4 lo with my rear locker engaged. Trail isn't bad dry, but is steep and there are some giant ruts and rocks to navigate. Quite a few washouts as well with a couple spots I expected to bottom out and didn't.

I'm pretty tickled with its crawl ability, given how smooth and fun it is at speed. I wanted to get it dirty once before I have the zone lift kit installed next week; if my 35s look too small I'll have to go to 37s.

I use sport mode in 2h for daily driving sometimes. And I'm going to have to find someplace for Baja mode and send it
