@4x4TruckLEDs.com and others, feel free to respond.

I’m looking for extra light for dark country roads where deer, foxes, coyotes, and other furry creatures might be an issue.

My parameters:

- SAE approved and street legal
- good cutoff so as to avoid blinding other drivers
- I’d like driving lights and fog lights
- want to be able to handle both clear nighttime weather as well as dust on dirt roads and rain/snow
- looking to supplement 25-65mph speeds, but I don’t want to have something bright enough to be on f your headlights Reddit.

Thoughts in terms of level/configurations/color?

You need to decide if you want Baja Designs or Diode Dynamics first. Baja Designs are the best quality lights however you can get more light for your money with Diode Dynamics. The Diode Dynamics also have an amber backlight built in.

Then you need to decide if you want the open style brackets, which allows larger lights to be installed. Or go with our flush brackets, which gives it a more finished look but you are forced into 1x 3” pod and 2x 2”pods

From there, each of our product pages has recommendations if you scroll down on the page.

And they are on sale, so check them out here: https://www.4x4truckleds.com/vehicle-specific/ford-bronco/2021-bronco/fog-lights/

I have one pair each white Pro Drive SS3/white Pro Fog SSC2/yellow Sport Fog SSC2.
The drives are incredible for lonely backroads to augment the highbeams, the more powerful white fogs offer great close-range fill, and the yellow fogs work very well in actual fog - I'm a big believer in selective yellow for inclement weather in general.
The Drives, as a highbeam augment, are not made to show to other drivers - they will definitely NOT appreciate it. The white Pro fogs are a bit harsh to look at from the front and I'll get flashed occasionally for them; the aim is good, they're just intense. The yellow Sports never seem to anger anyone.

Really appreciate the added color regarding the reactions people have.

I don’t feel like getting pulled over by an over-zealous county mountie, ticking off people in my general are, or making people believe that I have suddenly opened the Ark of the Covenant.

BD cases are slightly smaller allowing 3 to fit in the bumper. SAE in the middle controlled by factory fog switch everything else is upfitter.

You need off-road race lights no DOT light will deliver what you need. Just use them selectively when no one around. Get another supplement DOT legal to supplement in the OE place and stay compliant in areas where other are around.

I travel at night and can say that truckers all have illegal lights in the mountains and use them selectively pissing no one off.

If you’re wanting something that stays street-legal, has a proper cutoff, and still gives you a real boost on dark rural roads, you might want to look at a mixed setup that pairs SAE fogs with a more focused driving option.

On the Bronco side, one combo we’ve seen work really well is our SAE LED Fog + Laser Auxiliary Light Kit for the steel bumper. The fog light module is SAE-approved and has a tight, clean cutoff — good for rain, snow, dust, and oncoming traffic. Whereas the laser modules are off-road only, but they give you that crazy long-range spot when you do leave pavement. If full on-road compliance is the priority, you can just run the SAE module by itself or pair with any SAE-rated driving pod instead.

The mount lets you aim each projector individually, so you can tune it for that 25–65 mph sweet spot without being “that guy” lighting up the whole county.

I thought about being “selective” but the amount of cars that I come across around here is enough to where I’d just feel like a commercial airline pilot flipping switches.

Plus, have you ever seen a speed trap on a dirt road? That was a first for me, and thankfully I was taking it easy that day.

Lot of police looking for revenue opportunities, and in some locations around me, arguably not enough given how badly people drive.

… I am waiting for BF sales but think Rigid D-Series PRO SAE Fog Yellow/White Pair is tops

Yellow or White combo switch ability
Both are SAE @ 1722 lumens

But can turn both on together for 3444 lumens off road …

I have the diode dynamics Stage series Sport set-up on my BB modular bumper. I used their 3 way switch to control the off-road lighting and wired the street legal fog lights into the OEM light switch I replaced. I found the non-street legal lights to be great for what you're looking for in terms of seeing what's out there on the side of the road (a visit to the Colorado mountains on county roads showed me many foxes in the winter). I'm not sure you'll get the needed illumination for what you're looking for with something street legal.

I put their switch in the center console next to the power plugs so it's easily accessible so I can switch it on and off if oncoming traffic appears. This solution works great for me.

We already have ALL of our light kits on sale for Black Friday, including Rigid, at right around 25% off (or more). We also offer price matching to any authorized retailers.

I can pretty much guarantee you that Rigid will not have that kind of sale on the lights you are looking for. I have the list for what they are discounting for Black Friday, and it is mostly just clearancing soon-to-be discontinued items and things that don't sell well. I didn't see any kits on their list, so unless they are not telling their dealers what they are truly planning to sell for the holiday, then I'd say you won't get a better deal on their kits on Black Friday than you will now with what we have on sale.

Here is a link to our Bronco light kits: Ford Bronco Lights | Truck Light Kits | Bronco Light Bar – Specialty Performance Parts

Like I said, all of our kits are on sale for at least 20-25% off (or more). We also have pretty much all of the possible light combinations in our kits in stock and ready to ship at the moment. We just got multiple huge stocking orders in from Baja Designs, as well.

If there are any kits that you want to customize the light configuration for, I can always change any of our kits to be any setup of lights you want that will work in those kits.
Plus, all of our kits will come complete with our solid stainless-steel brackets and our patented plug-and-play harness system, which makes install easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy and clean as a whistle to boot.

Please feel free to reach out to me if I can answer any other questions or put together a quote for you on any setups you are interested in getting. I am happy to help in any way possible.
My direct line for calls and texts is 317. 934- 6778 or email at info@spvparts. com.

Thanks!

Don't waste your time with the harness Rigid gives you. It sucks. This is the one you want for D-Series.

We don't put Rigid kits together on our site but I can put a "kit" together for you. You're also going to need a mounting bracket for the mod bumper (or is this for an aftermarket bumper?).

Our harness is here: https://www.4x4truckleds.com/crysta...ors-diode-dynamics-rigid-industries-morimoto/

Correct. The Rigid lights by themselves are not listed at sale prices on our website because that would be an advertised pricing violation. That said, I can price them however I choose and however I can afford to on an individual basis. Our kits with the lights are all discounted, though. (Different part numbers, different items, different pricing.)

What bumper do you have? Capable or Modular? There doesn't appear to be any brackets in your list, so I can't tell.
I have a way better harness than Rigid's for less.
If you want to DM me with what price they are giving you, I will try to match it. I'll send you the quote for the kit as soon as I know which bumper you have.

Thanks!
