So for those not keeping track...

Bronco is offered in the...
  • United States
  • Canada
  • Mexico
  • Middle East
  • South Korea
  • Mainland Europe (namely Germany)
And soon... China.

Just blows my mind they haven't yet sold it in the Australian market. Makes no sense to me... because it seems like it would be perfect for Australia. I'm guessing the only reason why it isn't is because Aussies inherited left-hand traffic from England.
Didn't they design the current Ranger in Aus? Feels like that would make the Bronco at least partially designed there. Seems really weird to not be in some place overlanding is so popular.

The primary engineering team for the Ranger is (was? I know there was layoffs earlier this year) Ford Australia... so yeah... you would think the Bronco would be sold there given they share the same platform.

Given the Ranger is Ford's #1 selling vehicle in Southeast Asia and Australia, the fact the old full-size Bronco was also sold in Australia, and the massive overlanding/off-road community Down Under you'd think it would be a no-brainer.

BUT... the only place the Bronco is manufactured right now is in Michigan, and the Bronco is only built in left-hand drive configuration. So... Ford would have to develop the right-hand drive model, and they would probably built it in Thailand. Takes time to build that up I suppose.

There may be a few other reasons….
• Toyota is the “go to” off-road / overland rig in Australia. Ford can’t compete against models we don’t have like the HiLuxe’s and Troop Carriers.
• INEOS is poised to enter their market with the new Grenadier, a killer overland truck.
• Parts and distribution network would have to be set up there. Big investment there at a time when you have to wait 60-90 days for a replacement windshield from the dealer here in the US (yeah, I just got that quote from my dealer).

This will actually be great news! If there are more vehicles especially in China then we can expect a flood of cheaper parts and aftermarket parts too that will help drive down costs. Also just like the overseas Landcruiser, there will be models with manual transmissions and solid axles maybe.

Makes sense since much of the Bronco is made in China anyway. Soon it will be 100% made in China!

What a joke. Reservation holders still waiting for their Broncos and Ford once again says screw you to folks in their home country and keeps promising the rest of the world Broncos.

$100 says this is the beginning of the push to completely build them over there too. Better get one now before they start doing that…you think the Bronco has a few bad issues now, just wait till the whole truck is built over there.

Was announced here in Europe a while ago, nothing happened yet. For obvious reasons.

Also, with the terrible towing capacity, it has no chance here.

Yeah it's going to be an extremely low-volume super niche product in Europe just like it is in South Korea. Essentially a luxury vehicle. I think starting price is like €75,000 or something absolutely crazy. ($82,000 USD)

I am wondering if the Ford Everest will eventually make it's way to Europe... seems much more suitable for most Europeans than the Bronco.

Ford Explorer Timberline debuts at Auto Shanghai

As the most capable Explorer ever, Ford Explorer Timberline made its official debut in China.
It is more advanced in terms of outdoor-inspired design and capabilities, including the unique Altyn Tagh Orange exterior color, the contrasted-color interior design with contour pattern, and the mountain pattern elements throughout the car, highlighting an exclusive sense of identity.

The Ford Explorer Timberline is equipped with a Torsen limited-slip rear differential, REVO3 all-terrain tires, and a higher ground clearance than the normal Explorer, bringing a more capable driving experience to meet Chinese customers’ needs for outdoor exploration.

Introducing Ford Ranger, to be locally manufactured in China

At Auto Shanghai, Ford also debuted the next generation Ranger – the versatile midsize pickup truck that is “Built Ford Tough.” The pickup will soon be introduced in China, demonstrating that every Ford truck is built and tested to exceed customer expectations for durability, quality, reliability and capability.

Since 1982, five generations of Ford Ranger have set the benchmark in the mid-sized pickup truck segment, with more than eight million units sold globally.

Fine-tuned through the feedback of Ford pickup owners worldwide, Ranger has proven its capability in challenging off-road conditions, with vehicle testing demonstrating its ability to cover 1.5 million kilometers, the equivalent of circling the earth 40 times.

To fully meet customization and modification that pickup truck fans need, Ford provides optional OEM accessories for Ranger that are fully homologated to Chinese customers.

Today at Auto Shanghai, Ford also announced that the legendary Ford Bronco will be sold in the Chinese market. With a legacy of over 50 years, Ford Bronco delivers thrilling off-road experiences with heritage-inspired style, rugged engineering and smart technology.

What Cyber Orange should have been, what a waste. Biggest dissapointment behind not having a white top available. The Bronco would have been awesome in this color.
I’d love this color on heritage with white top
