I think a $30 ODB2 Bluetooth adapter with a phone app will do what you are looking for.

But beyond that - a properly registered procal unit will do that too, but I canā€™t confirm if it will work on a vehicle that doesnā€™t have the tune registered. It ~should~. But that doesnā€™t mean much

I did something real crazy. I sent Ford Performance an e-mail asking the question. See if they get back!!!

The one I listed above has no tune, so is about $300 buck cheaper. Not really interested in the tune. But nice to have that option later if I change my mind.

Iā€™ll try to plug my unit into another truck and see what it does.

That said, I donā€™t know that there is a path to just buy the voucher code for the tune if you did want to upgrade to that later on. I guess you could always just flip the extra dongle if you did go that route.

As just a scanner, this is a very expensive and limited tool.

So I canā€™t say I would recommend what you are trying, I do kinda want to hear how it turns out (especially since it isnā€™t my money)

I would strongly recommend getting a Forscan-compatible adapter, almost all of them come with an app or have a built in screen that give you all the data you are looking for, and you get the option of using it for Forscan as well. For a fraction of the cost.

Or for about the same price, get a FDRS-compatible adapter, and then you have it for dealer-level work.

Just tried out my locked ProCal dongle on wifeā€™s Bronco Sport

It does read the DTSCs fine, it does show engine/ECM parameters fine. I did not try to run any service/cal procedures.

But the basic stuff all seemed to work ok. It misidentified the engine in there - but I donā€™t think it was ever meant to work with the 3Cyl. Not even sure if there is an available one for the 2.0

But again, a Forscan compatible adapter will be way cheaper and do a lot more

Thanks Brian! The Forscan stuff would work, or a app used with my phone. But I want somthing mounted, that will turn on/off with the Bronco. With no messing with it. I have one of these in my 2020 F150 and love it.

Edge 84130-3 Insight CTS3 - Touchscreen Monitor (edgeproducts.com)

I was just going to get another one for the Bronco. But looks like they don't support Ford after 2020. :(

Seeing Ford never got back to me about my question maybe I will shoot Edge one.

Well, in under three hours Edge Tech support got back to me. They say it should work. They told me if I want to try, purchase through them, they would give me a 90 day return if it don't work. Hmmmm......

Follow up:

I bought the Edge CTS3 and it works great. Only thing it don't have is GEAR#, I have the 10R60. Or, I have not found the PID yet.... My F150 has a nice display on the dash indicating what gear it is in. Seems funny, but for some odd reason I really miss it in the Bronco. The Edge tech did tell me wait a bit. He bets it will be there after an update. This is how/where I mounted it.

I also like having a display of what gear Iā€™m in. My F350 has it. The Bronco does display what gear youā€™re in if you shift it manually. Maybe with forscan or the performance tune it can be turned on all the time?

Same, our expedition shows which gear itā€™s in and itā€™s easy to turn on and off. I donā€™t know why they didnā€™t program on the Bronco. Since you can get it to show when you click the gear selector buttons it seems like it should be an easy thing to program in/turn on.
