What’s the first thing you did (or plan to do) after picking up your Bronco from the dealer? I’m curious if most people go straight to the trails, the car wash, or the mod shop:):):)

Nice! How’s it riding with the sway bar off and Forscan tweaks? Notice a big difference on or off-road?

Don't the Bronco Raptors come standard with an electronic front stabilizer bar disconnect?
If so, it should reconnect at a certain speed.
The Badlands reconnects at 20 mph I believe.

If the entire sway bar was removed, then I also would be curious as to handling at higher speeds.

Yeah, you're right the Bronco Raptor does come standard with the electronic front sway bar disconnect, just like the Badlands. And yep, it’s supposed to automatically reconnect around 20 mph (same as the Badlands, I believe), unless you manually re-engage it sooner.

If someone actually fully removed the sway bar altogether (not just disconnected it electronically), that’s a whole different story. I’d definitely be curious how that affects handling at highway speeds. Even with the wider stance of the Raptor, I imagine it would feel a lot looser and less stable in corners. Probably not something I’d wanna test on pavement at 70+ mph 😅

Has someone actually taken theirs off completely?

I tell the dealer not to wash the vehicle. I bring it home, detail it inside and out, seal the paint and trim.

Should be here next month and its straight to the mod shop. New wheels, tailgate reinforcement and turn offroad tire carrier as well as chase light/third brake light setup, making some paracord grab handles, borla exhaust, k&n intake, got a few more things too. They just keep stacking up til it arrives.

I peeled the puffy stickers off the fenders the minute I got home.

I had it on a forest service road the very next day. Nothing hardcore, but it did get dirty.

Mine was delivered to my driveway. I was recovering from totaling the previous Bronco, and was instructed not to drive for awhile due to the broken sternum. I asked my wife to put it into the garage for me where it sat for several weeks until it only hurt a little to climb up into it. The first few drives to work were a bit nerve wracking - especially at the intersection where the first Bronco died.

It has very few mods. The stock configuration is more than capable of doing what I need - fairly mild park roads and forest roads are my only offroad indulgences. It's been to Big Bend a few times in the year and a half I've had it. The previous one only made one trip there in its short life.

I took mine to the DMV first, got it registered, then headed out to a rocky and muddy trail in the area and got it dirty. The photo below is less than six hours after making the purchase. I bought it to use off road and I wanted to get started with that right away. This is also when I learned how hard it is to get mud out of the corners near the tires. ;)

I took off the dealer sticker. They legitimately tried to convince me the windows were tinted when they obviously were not (they charged me for it without consulting me, then didn't even do it). I even brought the finance guy out to the lot to show him, and he still tried to tell me they were tinted while looking right at it. This was just one of the shady tthings they tried to pull.

The next thing I did was take it hunting at 900 miles and scratched the living hell out of it. It was awesome.

Tell me about this sealer
I used to use Chemical Guys JetSeal. Now, I use DuraCoating Technology GraphX6.

At most, dealerships may use a spray sealant that lasts all of 24 hours. But, most vehicles leave the lots completely unprotected. Add in the "I don't trust dealerships" factor, and I'll do my own maintenance and detailing. I've seen their "detailers" drop rags and keep wiping paint plenty of times. Makes me shudder. That's part of why I tell them "DO NOT detail the vehicle, I'll do it." I had one salesguy go "you... don't want a clean car?" Nope. Give me the keys, I want the dirt to stay on it so I can remove it properly without swirls on a brand new paint job. :)
