I’m selling my 2017 4Runner for this Bronco, which I’ve waited for since having a Bronco in the mid-80’s. 4Runners are simple, great, and boring. Like a dependable, decent looking, church going spouse. A little league assistant coach dad. Nothing wrong with a 4Runner.

Bronco is that hot, kinda crazy chick. Worth it? That’s for you to decide.

I never thought of my 4 Runner as "refined" or "finessed". Reliable, yes. Do they still have a 4 speed automatic transmission?

I have never been in a 4-Runner (or Tacoma for that matter) that didn't feel cheap. I test drove one in the early 2000s and I couldn't get out of it fast enough. Dad had a maxed our 2014 that he bought brand new, wasn't super impressed.

They have (mostly) always looked cool and they are reliable, but refined is NOT how I would describe a 4-Runner.

Seems like maybe you should have bought a couple of new 4-Runners since you're so in love with them.......

Well they may at times feel cheap, I agree, but they are super refined cars, like everything works, some of the styling is extremely dated, when I first looked at a 4runner it looked dated even in 2016, then I bought one, its not cheap at all its super nice. I'll give you an example, take a look at the leather wrapped steering wheel of a 4runner vs the leather wrap on a Bronco, Ouch, yuck ewww ! That's grosss ! Toyota has amazing leather, the Cheap crap american version on the ford is some supplier they found that sold some dumb guy on the other side of a screen a version of cheap leather ! I like the bronco but it aint all that there are things about it I would run away from like the crooked bumper they put on my car !

You really have to consider what the Bronco is and what it was designed to do. It wasn't designed to compete with a 4-Runner or a Defender (cars that have 4x4), it was built to compete with a Wrangler (specialized offroad vehicle).

Should Ford have had some more premium options? I personally think yes.
Should they have done a better job with the hard top? Absolutely!
Was the rollout a dumpster fire? YES!

All of that being said, I really think they did a whole lot more right than they did wrong. Removable top, removable doors, replicable bumpers, factory option with a lift and 35" tires, retro Early Bronco styling,....

I am SUPER happy it didn't turn out to be like a 4-Runner!
