Build Journal: I put a reservation down the 28th of July 2020, but 99'ed my order as I really wanted MGV, but did NOT want black. I know other models had "space grey", but I was hoping for a much lighter color. When the 2nd model year options dropped, and I saw that MGV options, especially on the trims I was considering, had not changed I pulled the trigger beginning of this year.

Those painted flares are sick. Did they require drilling?

Thanks! In hindsight, I wondered if I should just powdercoat the OEM rims to an Oxford White, but I really love the American Racing rims....
NO. They are awesome as is.

How noisy are those tires compared to stock? Any added weight?
I only have 500 miles on the Bronco…10 on stock..rest on the Coopers. I would say going from M/T to A/T they are a bit quieter. I’m still working on my optimal air pressure. Others have posted, and I agree, that 40 psi is too high. I am running 35 psi in the front and 34 in the back. I think thats going to be a very good compromise for me ref road manners.

in terms of weight, the coopers are ~3 lbs heavier / tire but that is offset by the rims being lighter than stock by at least that much (IIRC lighter by more maybe net `15 lbs lighter in total)

I'm on this site everyday, drooling over pretty much every build, but this may be my favorite. I wouldn't change a single thing! That color with those wheels in the picture at dusk... Perfect! It's the remote control car we all had as kids that we wish we could enlarge and drive for real!

Great job on this and thank you for sharing!

Thanks! Appreciate all the positive feedback.

This was my 50th birthday present and I had ~9 months to think about how to make it perfect for me once I got it from the dealer.

A lot of research, forum reading, etc led me to this point. I would say after the hard top comes in, maybe a couple years down the line I will color match the light gray dash and light gray door panel bits for some similarly colored MGV seats …never was a fan of dark seating material in the summer months…

They are not noisy at all. I also had them on an F150. Great tire, no 4X4 tire type noise, no "howl". Best tire I think I ever used on anything. As far as weight.....these are 18" on an 18" wheel. Stock was 17". Probably a little heavier than stock but not a lot. I could pick up the spare/wheel fairly easily. I would guess 80 lbs.

Here is some info. My size chart says the tire alone is 53 lbs. Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT | LT265/70R18 (tirerack.com)

Someone on here powder coated their AR wheels, really looked good.

No. I thought about trying to do that…but my guess is you can’t even do that yet since the Heritage editions are “late availability”. And, I still would’ve needed to color match and paint the BRONCO letters as the red I’ve seen from all the HE pics looks like a race red? My buddy’s shop color matched and painted my OEM grille.

Thanks - I’ve had a lot of fun with it so far!
