Harbor Freight winch $299

Was browsing Harbor Freight for a tow extension, and saw this coupon for their 12,000 lb winch for $299. They're comparing it to a Smitty Built at over $500. Get the right winch plate and this might be an option for some. (I'm considering it and holding onto it til I can find the right setup)

I see a lot of vehicles with the badland winches so they are the very least decent. Don't always have to get the big brand. Whenever I go with items like this tho I just kinda accept the fact that if it fucks up its time for anew one lol

Harbor Freight has some great-quality stuff and some not-great-quality stuff. You just have to be selective. I don't know anything about this winch, but I love my Daytona floor jack and their Icon tool line is fantastic too.

Badland winches are actually pretty solid. There's a few tweaks you can do to make them even better. Pretty decent deal.

My Brother-Inlaw bought one for his 69 Bronco a few years back and has never had any issues with it. Im sure if you are winching every day it might fail but in my opinion ( not worth much) Its just fine for getting you out of an occasional jam.

I have one bolted to my "Ford" garage floor its the lesser version, but I have never had issues with it.

Not that I’m aware but I’ve had several harbor freight items fail.

I’m honestly very tempted to buy it. I just need to figure out how to mount it to my mod bumper. I wish I could use the RC hidden winch, but that doesn’t work with the 2.7, so the Wikdtrak is out.

As much as I appreciate Harbor Freight for some things, I've learned not to buy things that break so cheaply. And when you need a winch, you're already in very serious trouble unless you're just hanging a deer. So while in trouble, you want 100% get out of mudjail card.
