Has anyone had their hard tops painted?

I am getting my 2024 Bronco hopefully next month and I wanted to know if anyone has gotten there hard tops painted. I want a white hard top like the heritage editions , but I don't want to wait that long?

Here is my 2-Door painted Cactus Gray to match the Body. The Windows, Rubber Seals and Rear Hatch were removed prior to prep and paint.

Several owners have changed the colors of their tops via paint, rhino liner or a vinyl wrap. Have a search or see the Similar Threads section below for additional info.

I had mine painted at a local body shop. Well worth the cost in my opinion. Of course, I have no idea how well it's going to hold up over time given the issues people are reporting with MIC tops. Either way, if it doesn't last at least I have the look I want until more aftermarket options become available.

For those that have painted their tops; I am curious of your opinion, do you believe painting the top will help "seal" it up better, make it more durable. Or do you believe if it starts cracking...it will crack through the paint too? Any snakeskin effect showing through the paint? Thanks

After an initial primer it was noted that there are A LOT of pitting in the Top portion itself. My paint guy said A lot of prep work was done to do the Top "correctly". Other shops don't do the top portion at all and it looks like Crap. (IMO) The painted Top now looks like the same finish as the rest of the Body.

I do feel that painting the top will help seal a lot better that unpainted. But, it's all in the prep work.

However, I have 3 Broncos with Hard Tops and non of the Tops have any cracking.

I want mine painted smooth but have not found anyone in S.E. Virginia yo do it yet.

I would think that you would want to skim it will body filler and then block sand it smooth. I can't imagine it is safe to remove any material from this tops. Obviously anything you do will void the warranty.

Agreed. While doing the Skim Coat it really revealed all the pits in the very Top of the Top. Almost like Hail damage.

I used 3 bottles of Raptor Liner for the back and the two front hatches. It has been over a year since I put it on and I have not seen any cracking yet. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
