How do I mount this GoPro to my dash?

It’s a standard 1/4”-20 mount.

Which I realize if you are not familiar with photography/cameras is probably meaningless. But search for “1/4”-20 GoPro adapter” and a bunch of options should pop up.

I think the term is called method acting.

A simple 1/4"-20 conversion adapter, from Best Buy or Amazon will help you out.

I bought this nice quick disconnect to go with mine. Works well. You would still need an extra 1/4” adapter

Thread it into the hole in the dash, tighten the knurled nut, and then use the standard GoPro interlocking joint. Simple and easy. I don’t know what kind of gymnastics you have to do to get some of those other mounts to work that people posted…

[Edit: I should add that I used a little wing nut instead of the nut that comes with it, so I could tighten the GoPro screw/handle without a wrench...]

Yeah that looks good. That’s all they need. I had various adaptors that came with mine, but it was still trial and error.

I'm still using a Hero 3, which doesn't have a threaded hole in the camera. Maybe the newer ones do? Which would open up more options, I guess.

But still, you need a way to tighten the mount independently of the threads, so you can point the camera any direction and then tighten it. Some of those two-way 1/4-20 adapters would just tighten wherever they fall, and the only way to lock the camera in a certain position would be to play around with different washers or shims or something until it ends up in the direction you want...

This is the cleanest way that I've come up with yet. I wish it was an inch or two taller though.
