I've got a small amount of sap on the edge of my hardtop such that it is visible from the side of the car. Are there are safe products that can be used on the hardtop without discoloring? I'm worried to straight for the isopropyl...

Thanks!

Goo gone is a citrus based solvent. Good for removing really sticky stuff. Like well adhered bumper stickers. I wouldn't think it would hurt the hardtop..I've even used it to wash my hands of nasty adhesives with no issues. I'd stay away from hydrocarbon solvents like acetone....though charcoal lighter fluid is cool for removing road tar from painted surfaces.
Maybe Ford manual has recommended cleaning agents for hardtop?

Nothing will do better than hand sanitizer.
You probably already have some, so give it a try.

WD40 ! will not harm the roof or paint. It’s what Ive used for road tar for years.
