What shock settings (set using the phone App) would you recommend for driving fast on washboard dirt roads? If it matters, I’m more interested in maintaining traction, control and stability than ride comfort. I regularly drive long distances on these roads and have been experimenting but I’m always looking for other opinions based on your expertise.

I'm not an Icon guy, but I know folks that love them, and I do drive fast offroad. You want high speed response to be stiff. If in doubt I would have slow and high speed as stiff as you can comfortably manage.

Your question is too nuanced to answer with a definitive number as there are different coil springs, vehicle weights and what the road is and what it isn't.

If you have something like a 'g-out' with a light ditch, make sure the front end is unloaded so you have more suspension to work with. (Brake before the hole but accelerate though it so the front is unloaded and uncompressed).

Also understand the suspension will compress with each successive hit in a short area. The third bump in a series will be the one that tries to kill you in part because your shocks may already be compressed and your available travel is limited.

I'm also a believer in rear bump stops but you wont need those to drive the same road everyday.

If you struggling to dial in the suspension look at the coil springs. To heavy and it will always feel too stiff, too light and it will always be sloppy and bottom out to easily. I have had to change coil springs multiple times to dial things in perfectly. You can experiment on the rear by adding weight or removing the spare. If you live anywhere out West there are shock tuner guys you can work with. Getting an accurate front and rear weight from a truck scale can help you if your working with a good shock guy. The nice thing about Icon is you can often talk directly to the Engineers. They have custom tunes as well. In my case i work with Accutune and they are fantastic, but they are King, Fox and Ride guys.

Thanks for the response above and it helps some. That said the Stage 8 Icon suspension includes new coils, upper control arms along with the Icon CDEV shocks. These shocks can be adjusted using a phone App to be light to stiff. The front and rear shocks can be adjusted separately. Levels are 1 to 10 with 10 being the stiffest. The amount of body roll (they use the term corner boost) and front to back compression during stopping and acceleration can also be adjusted using the App (G-boost on the App).(See pictures below)

The suspension has been amazing I’m just looking to find the best settings for washboard roads since I drive several hundred miles per week on those much of the year.

When I’ve got some time I’ll call Icon and see if I can get an engineer on the phone to discuss the settings.

I know folks that have removed the sway bar as those shocks can see and adjust side to side in real time.

Anyways 2 and 3 is super soft. Great for onroad plush. I only need to run 5 or 6 on a fire road but 8 if I want to be aggressive. 10 if your going all out and want to hit all the whoops.

2&3 are my pavement settings. Even those are way better and stiffer than the stock Sasquatch it came with. I took the screenshot while out of the Bronco and App wouldn’t allow me to scroll to the off road setting unless it’s connected to the Bronco. I used 6 the other day on the dirt and that was better and more stable. I’ll give 7&8 & maybe even 8&9 a try tomorrow. I run stiffer on the front since I added a winch.

Thanks for your higher setting is better advice! Yesterday I increased to 8 on the front and 7 on the rear shocks and had no issues with losing traction or instability, even at 50-60 MPH, on areas with decent washboard. I hit some potholes and heavier washboard at 45-50 that would cause problems at lower settings but flew over those areas with no issues.
