Does anyone face this problem when upgrading 17 inch wheels?

The Inner valve stems are hitting wheel calipers for 17x10 -12 offset.

This cause valve stem failed and tire flat :(

Fortunately discount tire has smaller valve that we can use and save the wheels.

But i think the gap may be too close.
I am afraid if the wheel alignment change or hitting pot hole, will this move caliper close to the valve stem and flat the tire again?

Is there any better valve to close this inner valve for good?

Here are some pictures for the gaps between calipers and valve stem

Here is the wheel.

The wheel has 2 valve stems.
One the normal outside and somehow there is inside stem as well.

And this is my wheels.

17x10 -12 offset.

Which i don't recommend as i just notice it is hard to fit this wheels.

Maybe throw a 1/4" or 1/2" spacer on there?

Maybe because if the wheel can’t fit a tpms in the normal spot, there’s just a valve stem there? The tpms equipped valve stem is thrown into the back?

If so, that seems like a terrible design choice

If I’m adding that up right, those tires are gonna stick out a little over 2-1/2” past stock on those wheels even before you add a spacer. Going from +35 to -12 on a wheel that’s 1.5” wider. So 3/4” for the wheel width plus 47mm (~1-7/8”)? Am I doing that right?

10" wide wheel and a -12 offset does not seem like a proper fitment with the stock 35" (Sasquatch) tires. Was this recommended by the Discount Tire or the wheel manufacturer? I could very well be wrong, but I've personally not seen this recommendation and I've been shopping for wheels. I did notice they make a +12 offset in the same 17x10. Not a fitment expert, but curious if this is may work with that 10" width.

I second this, wtf were they thinking? Just move the valve stem a half inch out and avoid the added fail point. I wonder if this causes balancing issues too?

Btw, just want to share that Discount Tire forum representative (Matt) and discounttire kirkland keeps helping me to solve this issue!.

They sent me with even shorter valve.
Glad that I met them and installed this complecated wheel at discount tire.
