Looks fixable to me. I bought my Bronco used with one poorly fixed chip and one fresh chip. The dealer was going to fix the other chip for me, but the "fixed" one looked so bad, I passed. I bought a kit off Amazon figuring rock chips would be a part of my Bronco lifestyle. My repair came out great, way better than the existing repair. I haven't gotten another chip since in 10K miles, so maybe buying a repair kit creates some form of protective envelope!

BTW, a buddy was looking into changing insurance. No accidents and a clean driving record, but the new company rejected him for too many claims on rock chip repairs. True story. Insurance companies are generally scum bags. They make more money by NOT paying out on claims and nothing is free.

The $10 Rain-X kit works pretty well.
Thought about that, but figured it'd be a lifetime investment with 5 cars and the Bronco being known as a bit of a chip magnet. Also, once a repair is attempted, you don't get a second chance at it since the resins are UV curing. So, I figured I'd go all in on the kit. It's pretty decent. I do have a new chip in my F250 to attempt, which I'm a little excited about. :)

I've had good luck with many applications of the Permatex/VersaChem versions which use both vacuum and pressurization via a tiny syringe type design to really help the sealant penetrate.

Join the club, I am on my third windshield. The third one got hit with a stone and used RainX repair kit, and it worked really well. I have used it on some of my other vehicles as well.

Check your ins coverage...mine sends the Safelite crew out and fixes those chips for free as they don't want them progressing to cracks and ending up as a windshield replacement. I live in Colorado though where windshields get serious abuse so coverage may be completely different in other states.
careful, in Texas...my ins its also free, but they show up as claims on ur insurnace report. premiums will go up

I bought the rock deflector small town dealer where 99% customer on gravel roads at 80mph.... said stops 95% chipping today I saw a bronco plated 1500 miles away hadnt been washed in forever with deflector not a single chip.... The films help a lot on smaller rocks and grit.

As long as there isn’t a divot then is most likely fixable. Only thing is that it will be noticeable under certain conditions or angles. Its just annoying knowing it is there.
When I get my new OBX I’m taking it to have a clear windshield film installed to minimize stone damage. Only thing it’s not a long term solution and has to be reapplied down the road.

I used one once and the pressure of it cracked the window beyond repair.
Try it again using the knowledge from last time. I've used the DIY kits with great success on my Bronco

Totally fair!

The cheap kit isn't pro level good, but it definitely punches well above its weight class!

Maybe I'll try a better kit for windshield #3

Y'all sucked me into this thread and today I got my first new chip and in our less than 3 month old Bronco. Grrrr. My repair came out OK considering it was a pretty good bull and star.
