I’m still totally set on Bronco as long as it doesn’t disappoint 😉

I’m not sure if the TSB was done, but it didn’t feel bad. Just felt like a Jeep.
Yeah Boy, we are also. We bought the JL in '19 knowing it would be probably 3 years before we would see a Bronco. Kinda planned it that way with a late reservation date, and it seems to be working out. I love it when a plan comes together. :)

BTW, it's good you didn't post this on that "other web site". I saw a similar post there, and they nearly tarred and feathered the poor guy.

Did the same with my JK. Who knows maybe we run with Bronco for 3 years and the JM will steal us back?

I love competition!!

I’m 6’3 and I have between 2 and 3 inches of headroom. I drive with the seat slid all the way back and sit fairly vertical.

Thanks. That’s good to know. I was hitting the back of my head on the sport bar in my buddy’s 2017 JK Rubicon a few months ago, with the seat down as far as I could adjust it. Maybe there is more headroom in the JL? Or maybe I just have a tall torso? 🤷‍♂️

-Road noise. The soft top in the JL is great. It is definitely a little louder than the hard top in my JK, but road noise through the body is significantly decreased to make up for it. At 75 MPH both my JK and the soft top JL registered 73 DB on my apple watch, but I’d say subjectively the JL is a bit quieter. With the hard top I bet it is significantly
So I measured 77 at 50 mph and 83 at 70 in my lifted ‘08 on 34” 20k mile Duratracs with Black Diamond vinyl top.

Did the JL you drove have the canvas top? I believe that is dual layered and thus quieter in addition to the JL windshield header being quieter.

Looked up the vin this one came with the “Premium black sunrider.”

And tires definitely make a huge difference. My JK is on pretty basic 33” coopers and the JL had the stock wrangler tires, neither of which are that loud.

Also FWIW - the tire shop guy tells me 285/70-17 is the sweet spot for largest tire that doesn’t pull or vibrate on the JK.

Something to pay attention to when people get Squatches and Badlands. Will be interesting to see if IFS or the lightweight Territories behave the same at 315 as they do at 285.

We just leased a '21 4xe for wifey. She couldn't wait any longer and she's always wanted a Jeep anyways. It's being delivered this week, so no ride reports.

We've still got the Bronco reservation, I was waiting for the mod top so it was going to be a MY22 anyways. I'm thinking now instead of the 4 door Wildtrak I can configure a 2 door how I want, instead of the white 4 door WT she wanted.

Curious to see what they will be offering, maybe I'll be getting a 2 door heritage now. It'll be a couple months before model info is even available, so I won't put much thought into the Bronco until then.

reasons i don't want a jeep is the interior, sfa and my skepticism of the mopar/fca powertrain from owning other mopar cars in my family. otherwise when i see rubicons on the road i love it.

Most engine review sites rate the 3.6L as above average for reliability and longevity. The 3.6L is a very good, solid, powertrain.

I have to agree. The 3.6L in my JL isn't a barn burner, but I didn't expect it to be. But the engine, and 8 speed tranny work great together.

JL is leagues ahead of the jk. With 35s I remember being afraid to get on the highway with my JKU...with the JLU it doesnt even bother me at all.

A ton of JK owners will say that not much changed with the JL but it's a drastic improvement
