Nice! But what would REALLY make sense would be if Ford made a slot for the key in place of the idiotic start button. And then you rotated the key to start the car! That way, you wouldn’t have to find a separate place to put the key. It seems so logical that it’s hard to believe that no one ever thought of that! Whoever thought of a start button should be sent to Siberia with only a Speedo IMHO. I think the push button start is one of the dumbest ideas ever to make its way into a vehicle.

Mopar had just that as well. Fob that went into a slot as if it was a key. It was kind of the first transition from keys to fobs to what we now have today with push button. The area that has the red triangle on it was imbedded in the slot on the dash and rotated to start.

Yea, I remember keys that had chips in them that were a combination of mechanical and computer, and then those non key turning fobs.

Of course at one time you had to get out and hand crank to get the engine started, and before that saddle up the horse, all who's time has thankfully past.

I switched all my house locks to keypads and currently carry zero keys and love it. I will never miss keys.

One key fob on you at anytime is all you need, the rest go in the house, wherever you keep them, a hook, a bin, wherever.

My only complaint with the Ford key fob is that it's huge for what it needs to be, by far the biggest fob I've ever had.

I'm in my 50s I've had plenty of keys in my life, that's a technology I never want to go back to.

Next step, when most cars have the credit card fob that never leaves your wallet, or even better, phones that use RFID by proximity and not rely on an app.

After two years of my key roaming free-range in the storage compartment, I made it a home:

Great idea and kudos for innovation and some side hustle. I keep mine on a carabiner attached to me at all times.

Having a keyless front door at home, I was excited about being able to keep my key in my pocket in the car as well. In actuality my pockets are overloaded with work phone, personal phone, AirPods, work keys, 2 pocket knives, and a pen light and is uncomfortable on long drives. Naturally I take the phones out of my pockets, so I’m already removing and adding items when I get in and out. I found that it’s handy for a day at the pool or lake since swim trunks aren’t known for ample pockets.

Yeah, I'd say the use case is the Bronco key fob is pretty bulky and If I just have the Bronco key in my pocket alone, it is fine. Add other keys and stuff to that pocket this could come in handy when you sit in the Bronco and everything in your pocket makes things, well, uncomfortable.

I almost exclusively wear Duluth cargo pants, 10 pockets, so having a couple of key fobs is zero inconvenience.

Agree with everyone who leaves it in their pocket, why take it out? That's the beauty of keyless. I can't wrap my brain around this.

And if you need to put it anywhere, center console is right there.

The push button start is absolutely the best, and I'm surprised keys still exist.

I have the console vault so that’s a no-go.

The tray in front of the fob holder is ... too large to hold the fob ... ?

I’m sure the pictures show the scuffs on my inductive charger from just that.

I wish Ford (and everyone else) would jump on the cell phone key bandwagon, it just makes too much sense. They could still have a fob for those that balk at the idea. Tesla does a phone or card.

There was an episode about one of the characters, who is probably a serial killer, losing it because he couldn't get into a rented Tesla due to phone problems. And it was based on his real life experience with a Tesla.
