Hello. Looking to install the Kicker 500.1 amp into the existing subwoofer enclosure in my 2 door Bronco base. This would replace the existing factory amp. Is there a bracket I can purchase that would allow me to remove the factory amp and replace with the Kicker? Thanks!

Here is a basic generic plate I 3d printed that will screw into the existing holes in the kicker key 500.1. I drilled holes in this printed adapter and attached the subwoofer enclosure when I did my audio upgrade.

This is the only picture I have of the mounting, but it should give you an idea.

Great thanks. I wonder if I could make such a plate and then glue the plate to the subwoofer enclosure? Then attach the amp to the plate using four screws.

What material did you use for the plate--not that familiar with 3d printing.

Thank you.

I printed mine in PETG and it has held up fine. I have had it installed for a couple of years now.

If you have a thin piece of wood, that would probably work too.

I adopted a very simple and sturdy mounting for my 500.1. It's detailed here. In short:
  • Use one existing hole on the amp to an existing hole on the enclosure.
  • Drill a new hole on the 500.1 base to align with a second factory hole.
  • Fab a very simple aluminum L channel bracket (from a hobby or good hardware store). This goes to a 3rd factory hole.
  • PXL_20240914_195348192.jpg
  • Don't bother with a 4th mounting point. This is stout!

Great thanks for the extra idea!
Also do we know if you can grab high level outputs from the factory sub harness (non B&O) for the 500.1 ?

^ There are only low level.

I'd guess to save time and money running larger wires.

Ok so I tried the above suggestions but my sub enclosure looks different and there are only 3 holes. I test fit placing the Kicker Key directly on the sub enclosure and I could screw the front two near the subwoofer into the enclosure but the rear two are just air underneath. I also tried to fabricate some kind of plastic bracket, but if I use that I can only screw in the front two shown. If I put a screw in the third hole middle, it would push the amp up sitting on top of the protruding screw at the rear.

Frustrated and looking for any suggestions on how to mount this amp on the enclosure! Thank You.

Something similar to what I did should work. In your case use 1 existing hole though existing amp hole (upper right) then looks like 1 aluminum L bracket (lower right) and a flat aluminum bar from left to either left hole on the amp.

It will require many little bolts and nuts (nylocks preferably) and a small bit of cutting and drilling but it will be plenty stout.

Lastly, use some stainless steel pan head sheet metal screws into the sub, you can go one size larger than the factory ones to get a really good bite into the plastic.
