Hi,
My apologies if this exact topic was discussed, but search produces hundreds of unrelated threads.
I am looking to upgrade Big Bend stock OEM rims 17X7.5 with largest tire that will fit the rim and will not cause any problems with out any lift.
Current stock tire size is 32" P255/75R17 .
Just stock rims and stock suspension.
Will I need to recalibrate speedometer for 33" tire?
Thank you for your help!

I put 285/75/17 on mine prior to adding a lift. Crash bars still in place. Speedometer is 3.5-4 mph off when going 70.

Will need to remove crash bars, and expect some rubbing.

285's do look nice on a stock Bronco though.

So, was there any rubbing with 285/75 R17 on OEM rim without a lift?
Secondly, speedometer was 4 mile under the real speed?

Thank you for quick replies!

I never took it off road outside of the farm which is relatively flat so can’t speak to that aspect in terms of trail riding. Zero rub on the road and full lock either direction with BFG’s.

yes 70 mph on speedometer is 73-74 on Waze.

You can fit 315/70r17 but you'll need to remove crash bars and there will be some rubbing without a lift. I put 285/75r17(34s) on with new rims and a 2" lift but they'll fit fine on the stock rims and don't need to remove crash bars. If you're not planning on doing a lift at all I would probably stick to 33's so you still keep some clearance. 33's will probably be 1-2mph or so off at 70. My 34s were 3-4mph slow but Forscan isn't too difficult.

Would dealer be able to recalibrate speedo? How much this can reasonably cost?
Thank you!

I think Forscan has tire size... which should change the speedo.

Seems like I asked my dealer about it, and they couldn't (or wouldn't) change tire size variable... but I'm in California and "The State" likes to protect us from ourselves as they know best about almost any subject (he says with sarcasm).

I had the same question for my service guy at my first oil change and he said no recalibration needed for 33 and no lift kit needed either! He said I could go as high as 285. **I have a Big Bend.
