Don’t forget the gears. That’s my biggest concern when going to bigger tires. Correct gears cure a lot of ills bigger tires bring.
4.70s will be perfect for 37s. Might help out with the mpgs believe it or not.

You don’t ever have to recalibrate for bigger tires. It’s just so your speedometer reads correctly. It’s usually a trivial matter to do with the right tool, but I wouldn’t worry about it too much if you don’t have the ability at first.

As pointed out, depending on the delta between tire sizes, regearing can have a huge and vital impact.

(Not always necessary, but at a certain point, I feel it’s worth the expense.)
Hey Zack, you going to the Wick today???

Oh!
Hah.

No. We’ve always been a strictly motorcycle street course racing… never got into motocross, and never had any influence as a kid.
I had a couple street bikes, never road raced though. We were dirt bike people. There aren't many road race courses in Texas. Motocross tracks everywhere!

Perfect is in the eye if the beholder. If that meets your performance expectations, that's great.
Me personally, if I regear for 37s, it will be 5.13s. Perfect for me.

MPGs are not a concern at all of mine. I've got that covered already if I need to be fuel efficient. Not sure what help in MPG you are comparing to, but 37s and 4.70 will only give better mpg at top end over a lower gear set, and that’s not where I would plan to spend my time on 37s.

The one thing I never hear in the 4WD crowd is someone complaining about their gears being too low. Too high, or vehicle lacking performance, yeah, all the time. As long as you are happy, that's all that matters. I've been down this road several times and like LOW gears for my applications.
