Hi yall..I know this may a stupid question. But I’m about to buy new wheels and go up in tire size. I have a stock Black Diamond and I’m going to SAS height (installing the shocks this weekend). I’m probably going with a 34” tire. How do I go about recalibrating the Speedo? I don’t have a pc, so no pro cal. Can the dealership just do it or can a tire shop? Thanks in advance!

Aftermarket programmer or forscan are the only ways.
Dealers cannot do it (unless one of the techs has forscan and is willing to do it)

The free Forscan software is relatively easy to use for changing tire size among other things. All you need is an OBDII port cable (link below for cable I use), and borrow someone's old laptop PC.

Forscan transformed my Bronco by customizing, getting rid of beeps and other annoyances, it's worth learning to use it.

Yea the dealer will not. I just asked 2 weeks ago while it was in. I have 255/85r17, which are Sasquatch diameter tires on my black diamond. They said “tech recommends going back to 265/70r17 to correct issue.” Yea ok lol.
I have to look into forsacan…

Well shucks..that’s a bummer. What about the TPMS? How’s that get synced up? And can I use my stock ones?

Can you use a used procal or are they vin locked? I used to have a tuner for one of my bikes and it kind of sucked because once it was used on that bike it was useless on anything else.

They’re VIN locked.

Is the entire Procal VIN locked or just the performance tune calibrations?

Wasn't sure about that. Wondering if you can change the tire size without the tune if @Mumblemouth were just to buy the Procal itself.

Yup. You can use the stock ones.

Personally I use the Motorcraft TPMS19 remote. I have read on this forum that the sensors auto-sync in 15 miles of driving or so, but haven't tried it myself.

In my experience rotating in my spare, it relearns on its own in a few minutes.

good to know. Looks like I’m going to have to get a cheap computer and the procal tool. I’ll look into the remote just in case too.

Forscan is well worth it!
And I just did a new set of wheels on mine with Schrader TPMS that were “programmed” from an online merchant (rock auto)—no tire pressure warning light from the moment it rolled out of the garage.

yeah..I reckon I’ll just buy the one without the tune calibration. I like the flexible octane.

Does your spare tire clear the 3rd brake light without the tire pushing the light up?
Thanks.
