I’m at 39,xxx miles and since Day 1, I’ve religiously scanned my MIC top for cracking. I’ve had a lot of issues with my Bronco, but have been lucky with my MIC, thus far. Nothing to see until yesterday, when I noticed dozens of hairline cracks on the passenger side above the rear fixed window. A couple more on the driver’s side.

Not even going to try and get Ford to be accountable after warranty, so here’s my question: For those of you who are living with crack(s) post-warranty, how has the problem progressed? Any thoughts on longevity of your MIC? I’ve been planning to install a soft top at some point and I’m wondering how long I have. Hoping there is enough life left in my MIC to give @Bestop_Team time to release a tan (ideally square-back) soft top.

if there are already threads on this, please forgive me. I’ve mostly just seen “MIC cracked, will ford cover under warranty?” threads…

Edit: here are some photos.

Just gonna stop the “here are the 2 door hard top options…” talk before it snowballs. I’ve been through all the threads. I’m not looking for hard or soft top info. I want to know how much life a MIC has left once it starts cracking.

@Turn Offroad offers a great hardtop. I’ve had mine almost 2 years now. No issues.

Let me help. @Sandman The OP has a 2-dr. TOR doesn't make a 2-dr HT. The OP is well aware of the hard/soft top options for a 2-dr. They are interested in prolonging the life of a cracked MIC top outside of the factory warranty.

Last February I found a small crack just behind the rear passenger window. It has not gotten worse and I have not found new cracks. Hope this helps answer your question.
Thanks. Good to hear that.

OP, as you can see, with reading comprehension, the struggle is real. 😜

Why not be the 6G hero, and expose the secrets of a MIC top? Just let it ride, see what happens, & when. Do a weekly/monthly check-in with updates. Other than cosmetic's, what's the worst that could happen? Water leaks maybe, eventually? It cracks in half? It turns to dust? Curious minds want to know.... 🧠

OP…. Post some photos of the cracks in your top.
That may give others cause to discuss life with similar crack amounts.
l will try and post photos of my slight cracks which have not changed since I took delivery on a new vehicle.
