Lobo hidden winch mount installed

Would you say that the RC one got trashed over something minor or something that you would assume either brands would have become useless?

Our RC mount has been on 2 rocky trails and is well bent and tweaked. I'm concerned the winch may get damaged if the mounting plate bends more... Basically it's junk for any sort of rocky terrain or handling impacts. Great design concept but poor execution. Ordered the Lobo mount but still concerned about it holding up. It seems 1/4" steel would be beneficial for how low these Broncos sit on rocky trails.... but will see!

Thanks for the info. I definitely do rocky terrain/obstacles so this is a major concern for me.

Hard to say, it was damaged hitting rocks, time will tell if the Lobo holds up, but it seems to be of higher quality than the RC.

It scares me to think of an expensive piece of electronic gear hidden away with no access to clean or maintain, but it may be just me!

I’ve never used the winch, only ever used a winch to recover others for that matter

anyway I actually drove mine to Moab and banged it off rocks

Ok, it's 2026 and any feedback pro or con on the Lobo hidden winch mount? I am going to try to install on my new 2026 Bronco Badlands non-SAS with 2.3L and manual. Any lessons learned that might help me? Also any warranty issues from cutting off the frame extensions? Thanks for any info.

I installed the Lobo a couple months ago on my Sasquatched BD. Man, was it a bitch to get some of the holes lined up for the bolts and I had to loosen the bumper bolts to make the bumper mobile. I haven’t banged it off of anything yet. Honestly tho, if my Bronco had even less clearance, I’d be nervous putting the winch in harm’s way and I’d probably get the Warn bumper.

Ours is great. Added a led light that is wired to the winch (turns on with the motor). Visibility for spooling the rope was the only downside
