My 2023 OB came with Lojack installed, but I never did subscribe and don't intend to. I want to disconnect it and avoid yet another failure point. I understand they can be tough to find as there is no universal location for the installation. Anyone know likely places for me to look, and maybe have an image of the device? Thanks!

are you sure the sketchy dealer didn't leave it enabled for HIS purposes?

go back to the dealer and ask.

If I had any inkling that any non-Ford security product was installed by the dealer, especially one with GPS capability, I would either insist the dealer remove it while I watched or else would go elsewhere.

I don't trust anyone other than me who puts a LoJack on a car.

Is it the LoJack brand product, or something other brand/model?

Google Images is your friend. I see one with an OBD2 pigtail. Start there. Make sure the OBD2 port that you can plug into is the one from the factory wire harness, and not the pigtail from a LoJack or similar.

It's likely installed close to the OBD2 port, look there....

My OBDII is correct, and I followed its wiring through the firewall. So that's not it.
Nice try, thief

I haven't checked out LoJack in years and years. Back then the installers hid the device in one of many potential places so thieves could not strip them out easy. I don't believe that dealerships were allowed to do the install.

Also there was no interface to the vehicle systems, it uses its own battery plus the vehicle 12v battery. If the vehicle battery is disconnected the unit uses the internal battery. When pinged, triggered by report the vehicle was stolen, it would broadcast a signal that local LEO could use to find the vehicle.

Things may have changed since then.

Anyone good at this would have your vehicle chopped within the next hour. LoJack is only good at locating a joyriding teen. Lucky for me the experts seem to be more interested in the X7’s and GL’s at the moment.

I'm pretty sure they put it in the #3 cylinder of the engine . Nobody ever thinks to look there :sneaky:
