So pulled off my RCI skid pkates today after seeing some fluid on the transmission skid. Hoping that it was just Ford techs being sloppy when changing the oil but it looks like my transmission is leaking since its covered in fluid which may explain the rough knock when going into reverse.

What do you think?

Of course, I'll take it to a dealer to have sorted.

stop by your dealer and get them to add dye to engine and trans oil(white for engine/green for trans)and drive it for awhile after cleaning area. We like to do this to simplify diag.

Mine was leaking from same spot, similar mileage. Turned out to be a failed input shaft seal due to contamination when mounting trans to engine at plant. They had to replace the front bracket assembly inside the trans., since the seal was integrated into it.

Not sure! Hoping the last tech who changed my oil was just sloppy. Going to the dealer on Wed.

Had a similar leak, ended up being a bad rear main seal. Dealer ordered the part, replaced it, and had it back to me within 3 days

Good morning. Could you privately message us with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer so I can look into this leak concern? Thank you!

Agree! I took it to the dealer and they put dye in the motor and no signs of it leaking yet. They said to drive it for a week or so and bring it back to see if the dye appears. I think one of two things. Either the tech who changed my oil there was so sloppy that he sprayed oil all over or the plastic drain plug is worn and needs to be replaced. I asked about that and he said it should be replaced every 2-3 oil changes. I only have 12000 miles and changed oil twice now. My guess is they were just sloppy which isn't surprising. We will see.

Yup that looks like motor oil to me.

Hopefully just a sloppy lube tech.
