So I was searching around putting a list of trail spares together. I looked at collecting a hub. upper ball joint & lower ball joint & was informed of the following bad news that I hope someone can debunk.

They pull up the hub $346
Upper ball joint $62
Lower ball joint sold with lower arm not available separately $742 o_O

I was looking at the lower & saw that it doesn't press through like most do. The lower arms are not interchangeable left to right so even if you carried one it wouldn't be worth it unless you guess right .
Man can't wait for the day when that wears out/ fails. Kind of makes those LCA skids a silly purchase for those that took the bait :sneaky: (Not I said the cat)

It'll take a while longer, I'm sure, but we'll start seeing lower front control arms from the likes of CarDone and Dorman in a few years, when it's profitable to make a replacement (Not upgrade) arm, possibly with a replaceable ball joint.

Retail price listed in the catalog for the lower arms are $654.55 for the RH side and $674.55 for the LH
The hub is $314.55
And the upper ball joint is $56.17

You can find better prices online at a few places though.

I figured, but was definitely bummed about not being able to service the lower ball joint :(

Yep, going with a serviceable unit would be the way to go once available.

I just ordered a pair of upper ball joints from ford.oempartsonline.com. With the two nuts and shipping, it was $92.84. I'm not affiliated with them, but the prices were way better than my local dealership. It's coming from Sames Kingville Ford, wherever the heck that is.

Ick that does look super non serviceable.

Fingers crossed for an aftermarket tubular control arm with serviceable BJ by the time I need BJs.

Is this some kind of slang out of the urban dictionary

Hopefully the prices of some of these Bronco replacement parts become lower. I am hoping very much to keep my Bronco in retirement as my last vehicle. (I had a 1971 Bronco as my very first vehicle). From what I am seeing now though I won't be able to afford just the parts even if I am able to still do the work in my 70's and 80's. A shop forget it. My 1987 Squarebody parts are so cheap in comparison.
