Costco Crawling is where it's at!

Wife was at Costco with my youngest and she called me to let me know her battery died.

Took a ride over and went inside. Didn't bring my tools so I asked the Costco guy if he could install a battery in the parking lot. He said no but gave me permission to do my first off roading in my new Bronco

The curb had to be at least 6 or 7 inches tall, sow I put her in Crawl mode and eased onto the gas. Without any effort I made it to the top. The view was glorious. Hundreds of basic vehicles lined up in parking spots like sheep.

Reminds me of the great National Park mud pit parking spot of 2023. The parking lads asked if it was ok if I waded into a mud puddle of 5-6” deep as no other vehicles dare use the spot, for fear of getting stuck and ending up on Matt’s Off-road Recovery YouTube channel. I agreed to the spot without hesitation, and at the end of my hike, the Wildtrak Bronco extracted itself from the spot with ease with just idle 4wd reverse, as on lookers gazed in amazement.

…. ok maybe that last part is in my own imagination, but the rest is true.

This adventure had me on the edge of my seat! To bad you couldn’t have
got this rescue on video. It would have received all the likes and Bros would be smashing that subscribe button. I’m not sure I could’ve watched, as it is I needed to refill my heart medication. Man going through that pharmacy drive thru I couldn’t get this situation out of my head and I was jumpy. But I navigated my way through and turned to my wife and said honey I love you but if you put yourself in such a serious situation to call someone else. No way am I risking my baby like that!

So… I’m sleeping in my Bronco in said parking lot (man these wide open spaces are dark and lonely at night). I need to make smart power choices and sign off. I may need the juice when the inevitable nightmare comes and I need to self perform the Ctl-Alt-Del on the pacemaker.

These are such capable vehicles and I feel like nobody talks about if I’m supposed to shift to 4H to pass someone that’s holding up carline or if the standing water in the grocery store parking lot means I’m supposed to turn the G.O.A.T. mode to “slippery”. I mean, am I even using my Bronco to its full potential??
