Moab

Did a weekend trip to Moab to attend offrodeo and hit some trails.
Offrodeo was definitely worth it and I would highly recommend it for anyone still on the fence about attending.

Did Hurrah pass and upto Catacomb rocks(enroute chicken corners),before heading back.

It was 109F out..but the views were breathtaking..

We're heading to Colorado, Moab, then New Mexico for a week and a half to just do whatever we feel like. No plans or hotel reservations other than in Colorado when we visit family and friends.

Moab seems like a great place to wander for a while. Also the northern California/Oregon coast and mountains. So much to see.

we are going there for off rodeo friday. looking at the temp it looks like it starts off cool in the am then hits the high around 3-5 pm and then slowly cools off again.
what did you bring/wear? is all the stuff in the email about long pants, long sleeve tshirt, layers true? we are from fl so we are used to heat all day and night.
any places you ate at that you recommend on other days?

Long sleeves are not a necessity, but helps. I don't think layers are needed at this time of the year.
They would provide a water bottle and there will be water refills in one of the trucks. You should be fine if you keep yourself well hydrated. You have several options for restaurants in downtown Moab.

Nice pics and Moab is always a fun time no matter the time of year! We have a teammember that will be doing the Rubicon trail in August this year if anyones heading out that way!

Just got back recently from Moab. I originally did the OffRoadeo there a few years ago and have been back three times since because it is so amazing. Despite the instruction to wear long pants, virtually every student in the OffRoadeo wore shorts because of the heat and no one cared. Prepare for the heat with sunscreen, hats, sunglasses , etc, the usual and you will be fine. The restaurants downtown are fine but some with outdoor seating can be really loud due to traffic. Try Thai Bella, if you like Thai food, it is a few blocks from downtown so it is relaxing and quiet. Make sure to take some time to get off road the day after the instruction. I recommend Onion Creek, Chicken Corners and Shaefer Switchbacks if you are new to offroading. Enjoy!

Finally got my Bronco 3 weeks ago and on the fence about the Roadeo. But looks like another recommendation is in the books for Moab !
