Mod black + WT mirrors

So I’ve been sitting on this thought since the pics of the mod black top were posted. I’ve been hoping to find some other pics outside and close up and I haven’t seen any yet. So I’m turning to the flock.

Is anybody else concerned about the transition from shiny black mirrors to flat MIC mirror arms? When the factory pics were posted the contrast between all that shine and the flares and mirror arms really stood out. It’s got me thinking of changing to BL after I had settled on WT for a while, are there any overhead pics out there? Or even better lighting pics?

Right, it was the transition from high gloss mirrors to flat MIC arms That looks odd. It could have been the factory lighting which sometimes makes the photos look different than they look outside.

Here’s 2 outside photos. I’m also getting WT and was disappointed about the mod top being late availability. But I’ve grown to like the way the rims, mirror caps and grille all match.

I'm going with the badlands with the black painted roof. I may just have the mirrors and arms and door handles painted to match.

I'm getting WT. I think it'll be fine now that the MIC top is a darker shade.

You'd switch entire trim levels just because of the finish on mirror caps?

I believe if you go with the shadow black modular top the mirrors and the grille all are painted gloss black.

Well if I change to BL it would be with the newly improved MIC, which is much better looking now. It was light enough before where I was set on the mod top.

Right, but I like the new MIC enough to stick with that and BL grill. I had been so set on the Mod top before I thought the WT combo would be the way to go. The I saw the pics of it super glossy, combined with the new MIC has me rethinking

Chris, I think that super glossy look came more for the plant lighting more than the paint. Ford says the top is "Shadow Black", and if they aren't making another mistake (hard to believe I know) it should look like the paint on the F-150's. With just a standard clear coat so it will shine, but not look like it has a coat of clear plastic as a covering. Now, I'm saying this because I hope it's true. I want the MOD top also.

I really think this is a mistake. Just the WT is going to have these pieces and some how it got copied to other trims. If I recall correctly from way back, you had to get OBX and up just to get some sort of painted top.
