Do these improve the latch function or tension?

One of my latches is loose and needs to be tightened. I just keep forgetting to do it.

Its an OEM replacement so it won't fix worn out or loose hardware on its own. I recommend adjusting the latch handle screw before purchasing to make sure its not overly worn. I do make washers but that's a bandaid fix.
