I disagree ... popularity creates markets .... besides all the projections are that the Bronco will be a high production vehicle just like the F150
The Bronco will not come close to the F150 in sales. If they can average 150,000 Broncos a year that would be amazing. The F-series does that in three months. They are flirting with 1,000,000 sales a year. That’s a market! Accord and Camry are the same in having a large market. Also, popular stolen cars have international markets. Bronco will not.

If you opt for intelligent access, use a Faraday bag to store your keys in the house.

Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it. Chances are no one is going to try and steal it, and if they do they're probably getting it regardless of any aftermarket systems you put in place. Keep track of your mods, use a good insurance company, and don't sweat it.

It is exceedingly unlikely for a vehicle to be stolen under circumstances warranting the use of deadly force.
I agree. Unless that fool is in your garage (certain states at that) or actively taking you out of the vehicle GTA style then you’re gonna get charged for shooting someone lol

The post you're responding to was referencing carjacking, rather than simply vehicle theft. Jurisdictions will vary, of course, but I'd call it relatively safe to imagine that most circumstances of carjacking are going to involve being confronted with a weapon, which may well warrant a response involving deadly force.

A skid plate over your catalytic converter might slow them down enough to not make it worth their time. Especially if it were formed in a way that even if they cut your exhaust it couldn't be pulled out from behind the plate.

I've been somewhat concerned about this too. Not the actual car being stolen, but some kids ATTEMPTING to steal it and damaging the door/window etc. At least during the first 6 months when my reservation gets fulfilled earlier than most.

We dont have a garage, and live on a main street on an "island" (demographic wise, i.e. small high income town surrounded by outskirts of Newark). A good amount of break-ins from people coming from out of town. So, yes, i could see having a flashy exclusive car sitting at the end of the driveway for all to see and some dumbass kids drive by and take a crack at it.

Never been overly concerned. That is one reason why we have insurance.

True - but if you have an early reservation its going to take a very long time for your car to be replaced. I am going to be walking on eggshells a bit trying not to get into an accident because i have a feeling if i need a replacement parts it will take awhile

Usually if someone is going to steal a car, they bring a roll back or tow truck. Meaning, security systems don't save you. Otherwise, amateurs just break the glass and steal stuff you have inside.

The stolen parts market will be the real problem. The top and doors will be big business for thieves. People out wheeling and damage parts will be looking for low cost replacements. In the Jeep world the tops, doors, and spare tires are easy pickings.

With the over-the-air updates, I'd assume a stolen Bronco would receive a stop all, and tell me where you are command. - or something like that to detract from theft.

I'm concerned about the spare tire ... I hope it has some sort of locking mechanism to that back door

If it is like the Jeep and FJ lug nuts hold the tire on. On my FJ I used a locking lug as a first line of defense. I then used a cable lock to through the wheel to the bracket. Didn't have an issue in 5 years but it was also garage kept.
