Ordered Mountains 2 metal front door pockets. https://mountains2metal.com/product/m2m-br6dpmf/

Shipping was fast and well packaged. Install is quick and easy. The tools needed are in your Bronco tool kit. I opted for the impact driver bit for speed, but either tool will work.

Removed the factory net, which I find useless for anything heavy. Once the factory net was removed, I saw how it was held on and decided to reuse the net with the mountains 2 metal pockets. If you go this route, start at the bottom two holes to get the net aligned. Just start the bolts and install the top two bolts. Now the middle should be aligned. Tighten all 6 bolts and done.

Both sides took less than 5 mins with the removal, net and reinstalling. That included some Lab help.

Ok cool! Leaving the net in there seems like a good idea the more I thought of it. How's it working out?

Why didn't I think of leaving the net on, great idea. Looks like I'll be modifying mine.

Labs do try to assist with projects……just wish mine would learn the difference between straight blade and Phillips screw drivers……bring the wrong one about half the time.

Put mine in yesterday in about a half hour.
Knee clears by a country mile and makes a convenient spot for trail pistol.

This is brilliant. I was thinking of a way to divide the space up and came across your post. Nice job!

Also, just to give others an idea of the size/depth of the pocket here's a couple photos with a soda can and a YETI inside. The YETI is stable enough I can leave it there full of coffee and it's stable enough for street driving. Also a photo to give folks an idea of how much it protrudes from the door.

The only time I notice it is if I bend my knee and bring my calf back until it touches the seat while leaning my knee against the door. I can feel it then but it's not bad. Sometimes I sit like this just to change positions on long drives but maybe I'm "special" lol.
Photo included shows the position I'm talking about...
