Bit of a predicament here. Lets say you have to move to another state after the bronco is in production, what is the best course of action? Can you switch dealer or change the delivery address while still “working” with the original dealer? Thanks

Unless things have change you can not do this. I had this happen when I lived back in MA and moved here to AZ. I had already ordered my Tacoma and it had to be delivered to the selling dealer. I had to pay to have it shipped out here. Sucks because it was made in MX and went cross country twice before I even sat in it.

Call your dealership and ask them.

There exists a mechanism for a Dealer to have the vehicle shipped from the factory to a different dealer...

I know it’s more or less frowned upon, since there is a literal and logistical cost for a dealership to receive and deliver a vehicle, and they’re reluctant to do that if they aren’t being compensated... but if any situation may warrant this type of thing, this could probably be it.

Ask your dealer.

A Ford dealer can setup a "Courtesy Delievery" to any other dealer. It will go from the factory to this new dealer. The new dealer may charge a fee from $500-$800 for doing this. However, find your new dealer, talk to the Bronco Specialist there, tell them you want them to be your new dealer and will go there for all your service. Maybe, they will reduce or waive the fee. Just make sure you pick a new dealer with a highly rated service department. This is common practice for Ford Fleet Sales.

I’m making the move from Detroit down to Dallas at some point in the next 6 months and may have the same issue. My plan is to fly back up and take delivery from my current dealer and then have it shipped while I fly back, or have it shipped directly to a dealer near my new place. It would be nice if this wouldn’t cost me anything, but I’m prepared to cover shipping costs.

Personally, I would prefer for it to be delivered to the dealer I have been working with for years because I trust them to take care of anything that might go wrong.

I might even drive my Bronco down (about 1200 miles) depending on shipping costs and time of year. Could make a small vacation out of it! Really hoping it gets here before I move though. I would like to play in the Silver Lake Sand Dunes before I move.

I’m going to try this because I’m moving from Metro Detroit to the Big Island of Hawaii before receiving delivery of my Bronco. And Unfortunately there’s only one dealership on the Big Island and from everything ive seen from research they have in the past charged crazy high ADMs for the Raptor, like $20k!

Don't understand why you'd do this? You can have a truck pick up your vehicle and driven right to you. You don't need to fly up and back. I've done this with two Jeep Wranglers I bought out of state online.

Well, for one, I have family and friends in Michigan I could visit when I come back. Two, I get to see that everything is correct with my order and deal with it in person at my dealer if it’s not. Three, it gives me an excuse for a vacation because I’m a bit of a workaholic and have a hard time justifying them.

I know I can have it shipped. I said I might do that, but I would really prefer to deal with initial delivery and payment at my dealer in person so that they can handle any issues. My family has a long standing relationship with them so I trust they will take care of any problems. From there, I can drive it around Michigan for a bit and then ship it, or road trip down to Dallas. Nashville is also on the way and I have friends there too, so that’s another excuse to take time off and road trip.

I know some people won’t agree with this, and that’s perfectly okay with me. I’m just sharing where my head is at because I will likely move before taking ownership of my Bronco.

Do you have someone else inspect your vehicles prior to purchase and paying for shipping? Or is shipping included in your purchases?

I have not had anyone inspect cars I have bought remotely. Since they are new cars, I don't really see any need. The dealer would have inspected the vehicle themselves and the factory also checked it before sending to them. The shipper knows the car is new, so as long as the car is insured on the truck, I'm comfortable. I pay for the shipping myself.

I’m originally from the Detroit area. I live in Georgia now and I ordered my Bronco from a Michigan dealer!

Mini vacation this summer...I hope.

My wife and I will fly up to Michigan, pick up the Bronco and visit for a few days and drive back to GA!

After it's assigned a VIN you're probably SOL to have the destination changed without paying for shipping. If it were a fleet order you have some options, but on a retail sale it's pretty much going to the ordering dealer. In the scenario you described it's likely going to cost more money to get the vehicle to you.

I've already had one of the reputable forum Ford dealers tell this can be done for retail, just like fleet, when I considered it months ago. Before or after VIN is an open question for a dealer,
