Interesting range. Shows what a big difference tire size, driving habits and speed can make.

I have '21, 2.3, 4 door Big Bend soft top, stock street tires (32"?), manual trans, rear locker with the 4.46 gear.

Normal day to day not thinking about it I get 17 to 18. It's hard to stay off the skinny pedal, it's such a fun little truck.

If I'm intentionally driving to save gas, I can average 22. This is on about a 60% highway commute. Plenty of hills with long grades on interstate and stoplights in town. Going the speed limit, but coasting to stops and accelerating like there's an egg between my foot and throttle. I'm not going slow and pissing people off. Screenshot is for 200 miles of this back and forth commute for a few days.

I do this in Sport mode with that dumb auto start/stop off. In Economy mode I found I only get 20 to 21. Normal mode is about the same. The difference to me is economy mode retards the throttle so much that when it finally responds the truck immediately gets on the turbo. The key to good mileage is staying in the vacuum and off the boost.

Cruising 70 for example, my truck is happier in 5th gear unless I'm on a long downhill or very level, and then I'll throw into 6th. Running at 2600 RPM in 5th is more efficient than running in 6th at 21 to 2300 RPM. The reason being that in 6th it's relying on the turbo much more often. If I run the cruise control I just leave it in 5th as otherwise I'll forget I'm in 6th and lug it on a hill. It'll power on up of course without slowing down, but then I'm back on the turbo.

If you're reading this and don't have your Bronco yet, let me assure you that the 2.3 manual has plenty of power to step on it in 6th gear and get moving. It's an impressive little motor. That's just counterproductive to my economy experiments and as I said, my truck is just more efficient using the gears than the turbo.

EDIT: This screenshot is on premium gas, no ethanol. Ethanol drops my mpg.

2.7 Sasquatch 4dr, around town I'm getting 14 or so, which considering how I drive is kinda impressive. 2700 miles.

2.3, Black Diamond 2 door, manual, stock, 91 octane. Averaged 20mpg total so far, and get about 23-24 mpg going 65mph, drops to 20mpg at 72mph, and drops to 17mpg at 80mph. I usually shift around 2500rpm and drive it kind of tame

If I do highway trips with cruise control on I get 20mpg. I drive a lot in the city.

Fairly consistent with other sas 4 door 2.7s

Mid 15s around town. Only in heavy city and spirited driving will I fall below 15 to mid/high 14s

On highway on cruise is where I best Ford estimates. it's fairly easy to hit 18/19, or occasionally 20 if I am going at the optimal cruising speed (whatever that is)

What are you getting in real world driving? Add your model, engine, trans, Sas or not. Before I got mine I really wanted to see real world numbers. Not complaining….. smiles per gallon.
Stock 2 door Badlands, 2.3, 7M. 5,700 miles, 18.5mpg
