I'm working on getting a hitch mounted bike rack (1-up USA.com) and need a measurement from the top of the receiver to the bottom of the spare tire. I'm trying to figure out if I will have enough clearance to still open the cargo door with the hitch rack mounted. They offer reversed side plates that drop the rack but seeing as I need an extension anyway to clear the tire I may go with a drop extension vice the reversed side plates from them.

The regular side plates have 4.6" from the top of the receiver to the radius.

A Non-SAS BL would be preferred but I should be able to estimate a good measurement if from something else.

This is the curt. I'd say 4.25-4.5" from the lowest point of a non sas BL

Yes, greatly. It looks like a 2" drop extension will work perfectly. May even be able to get away with no drop, but it will be super close.

Thanks!!

I have the draw-tite extended hitch and from the top of the hitch to the bottom of the spare is 5 1/2 inches. I have 265/70/17 black Diamond wheels and tires.
My carrier won’t clear but it’s taller than that so yours might. I’m considering one of the 1up racks so post some pics when you get it.

Thanks, appreciate it. I was looking at that style of rack but I'd really like to be able to open the cargo door as we are getting a two door, wouldn't be as big of an issue with a 4 door.

I'm ordering the rack tomorrow but our Bronco just got pushed to a 1/3 build week. Hopefully someday I'll be able to post pics!!

The 1-up looks like a super well made product.

Would you be able to take a side photo of the hitch to see how far it extends under the spare tire? Thanks!
