I am signed up for Off Roadeo in Nevada with 3 others. One of us recently injured an ankle and won’t be able to drive but still wants to come along.

So I’m curious how much walking is involved. She has a boot and walking sticks for stability but we want to make sure she can still ride along.

TIA

Not a crazy amount of walking at all unless she has to use the restroom a lot. There is about 3-4 stairs that you will go up and down a few times at base camp for lunch, dinner, etc. just went 2 weeks ago.

Here is a pic of the stairs: (looks like there is a ramp too)

Definitely ask to be the trail leader or close to the front of the group. That will cut down walking big time.

There is a scenic overlook she may not want to walk up to, but everything else is quite a short distance. You park right next to the building for lunch.

She'll be fine, there's very little walking. I remember the overlook and then the initial walk from the introduction area to the Bronco's. There was a guy in my group that had an artificial leg that did fine.

I'll be at the event Monday 4/10. I was just discussing it with a coworker and he advised me to rent a car to get there from Redrock Casino...

Sometimes cell service isn’t great making Uber a little hard. Agree she’ll be ok walking, although it will be a rough ride at times.

Thank you. I reserved a rental through Priceline for $144 for 3 days...

Update:

We went to Off Roadeo on Monday and had an amazing time. I went with three others thinking we would all drive but ultimately I did most of the driving. I learned so much about the capabilities of the technology in the Bronco as well as some driving techniques for off road driving in general. As a total noob, it was just what I needed to be more confident when I drive off road now that I’m back home. It was a great day and worth every penny.

I do want to add though that there was quite a bit of walking involved as we went through their test course area discussing basic technique. My crew made it through but it was tough on a broken ankle (but she had a great time and came out of it with no further damage done)

The most important thing I learned is to always take a pal with me!

Thank you Hunter for guiding us through!

I'm headed to Nevada Off-Roadeo on 5/6. Anyone have an idea of what the breakdown of vehicle options looks like (e.g., is it mostly SAS or non-SAS? Mostly Badlands or do the trims run the gamut)? In particular, what does the Manual availability look like?

Most are Squatch of the higher trim variety and a couple of non-Squatch BL's. Manual availability is zero. To many burned up clutches at the first few rodeos.

Ah that's a shame--thanks for the response.
