I'm writing on behalf of a friend who just picked up his Bronco - 2 dr Badlands with the 2.4L Engine. Literally only has 154 miles on it. Got in it this morning, and it won't start. It will power up, but not start. He says nothing obvious - in park, foot on brake, etc. Dealer sent a tow truck and picked it up this morning, still waiting for word on problem.

Anybody heard of anything like this?

I see the problem. Looks like someone put a Chevy engine in his Bronco... šŸ˜‚

Sorry just kidding. Hope they get his 2.3T figured out.

Shit happens. It sucks. Iā€™d be pissed. But the reality is this is probably a minor issue that the dealer will fix and your friend will be on his way and happy in no time at all. All new vehicles have a certain percentage of issues, this is true of Bronco or any other model. Iā€™d be absolutely shocked if you get but a few responses from people who have had this problem.

Just a dead/weak battery maybe, or a loose ground. šŸ¤”

Good morning. Can you please send over the VIN and the name/location of the Ford dealer your friend is working with? I would like to take a closer look at this starting issue.

I'll try to get him in touch with you.

I was chatting with him a bit ago - the dealer says it is a failed starter and that they have had a couple Broncos and F-series come back with similar issues.

I had a similar issue and it ended up being software related. Essentially the modules stopped communicating long enough that it triggered some safety process that prohibited it from starting. Once the errors were cleared, worked like a charm. Caused me to invest in a connector and FORScan. I had less than 2,000 miles and the vehicle was only a week old.

Since then I make sure to never use the auto start/stop feature and check the connections every few thousand miles.

Ya stop tonguing the clutch pedal!
Huh... mental picture is concerning, but not sure if that would cause a no start.

While true Ford ranks pretty low on that list thus they have more initial problems.
