New recall on 2.3 affecting only a few Bronco’s with major implications

Is this site definitive? Someone mentioned this was not a recall, but a “customer satisfaction program”. So just checking whether this would show by VIN. Anyone have the issue show as a recall?

Customer satisfaction programs will still show up as an FSA.

I saw a video where the presenter was saying there was a small recall for the 2.3 affecting Broncos built over a 2-day period, 12/4/22 - 12/5/22 (roughly). I think it was for this issue.

I stopped by this morning and had them pull my VIN. My build date is 12-12-22, so I am outside the window. No recalls or campaigns. I got the same result of no recalls on the website, but I got a specific build day from the dealer.

The service tech also said they were not simply replacing motors anyway, but only in case of excessive oil consumption.

This program has nothing to do with oil consumption.

Also, every affected VIN will get an engine replacement whether it is leaking oil or not, as it says directly in the dealer bulletin.

Well, never believe everything your dealer says. But I can be confident I’m not affected if both the website and OASIS shows no recalls or campaigns for my VIN? I’m about to add a compressor, fogs, and other stuff under the hood next week, so I don’t want to do all that and find the dealer is going to swap the engine later.

If it’s not in Oasis, you are 100% not affected by this.

Update: I talked with the dealer, and a replacement engine was ordered today. Hopefully, will have everything installed and back on the road by the end of the month.
