Hey Yall,
Long time lurker, recent recruit and realized I never did an introduction.

My wife and I had been watching the broncos since they were re-introduced, but i have secretly always loved the gen 5's ever since my brother got one in highschool. Both of us loved the new ones, but the markups became a serious gatekeeper. The plan all along was for each of us to have one.

Fast forward to July of last year. We traded our 2019 durango in on a 2021 big bend area 51 for my wife. At the time, we werent sure how much trail riding and general offroading we would be doing, so it was (and still is) fine.

It was already lifted 2" with 315/70 k02s, suuuper clean underneath as if it had never been offroad, and just a bit of sand in the carpet from being traded in from the pensacola FL area.

We tooled around, pulled the doors off, etc, for a few months, and thoroughly enjoyed having it. Then.. playing around on the internet, i found mine out in Tulsa.. a nicely optioned 2021 badlands sasquatch. Race Red was one of my last choices, but you couldnt pry it from my cold dead hands now.

Again, super fresh and clean, zero offroad usage.. The previous owner from northern texas bought this one to fill the gap while his Wildtrak order was being built. His loss, my gain.

It didnt take long for us to really start playing.. Doors off, top down, and enjoying life together.

As a late birthday present, I got a new bumper to replace the modular on mine, then swapped the modular over to my wife's...

And the story goes on from there, exploring the ozarks, pushing both of us outside our comfort zones, enjoying each other's company, soaking up nature, and meeting a ton of awesome people along the way..

I will photo dump shortly

I wasnt happy with the illusion of being slightly squatted, so I performed Big Meat's rear strut relocation for about a 2" gain in the rear..

also did the same to the big bend in anticipation of lifting it another 2-3" in the coming months.

Definitely need a little more flex... so the rock crawler 4 link setup will be added this summer to both rigs.

Is that the secret to a happy marriage..... buy your spouse a matching car so you don't have to be in the vehicle together, and listen to the one in the passenger seat tell you how to get home from the mall in a town you have lived for 30 years?

So glad to see these rigs get some off road use. I live vicariously through all of you who do said things, as my lifestyle currently does not allow. Welcome to the Bronco Family!

She loves being a passenger princess, but also would rather be in control in the off-kilter slightly sketchy moments lol..

Its all about experiencing and learning together. only so much you can learn from the passenger seat. We both have gmrs radios installed, so radio chatter is near constant between us two

2 Bronco, not gonna lie, little jealous.😆. Nice builds.
Have you found any cons with relocating the rear struts. Were you able to mount a skid plate on the new setup. Love free mods

Hmmm. Most recent trip together.

Shouldn't you be going up the interstate.
No.
I think you should be going up the interstate.
I'm not.

Four hours of quiet after that.

Great pics. I recognize the pull off on the Pig Trail and the old school house. We're lucky to live here too.

Missed this post..

zero cons from relocating the rears up. Pros are free-ish (spent $6 or so on 4 washers), and way more ground clearance without worry of damaging the brackets

I didn’t have skids on the rear struts to begin with, so not sure on remounting them. I don’t see why you couldn’t toss them up, drill the additional 2 holes, and keep on rockin though

Let’s go tackle them all together. I’m always up for riding in the ozarks.. at least until I relocate further south

For the record, just completed a 1900 mile drive this past friday to sunday. 500 friday, 650 saturday, and 690 on sunday.

rear strut mod was done 6500 miles ago at this point. somewhere between 1200 and 1500 of that being trails and backroads.
