Noisy Brake Booster

I just got a quote to replace the brake booster on a 2022 Bronco Black Diamond -- $1,954.54. Of that, $386 is for labor and the rest is for the Ford part. This part cost is insane to me. Has anyone else had this same problem? Are there any cheaper options. The whole vehicle was only 46k. Why would one part be 1400$???

On a safety item, you do not want to go with cheaper options. Truth is all parts costs are rising and getting more expensive the parts cost do not care what the worth of the vehicle is.

The quote was at Christian Brothers Automotive. I asked them if there was any safety risk and they said, "no". They said it's just annoying and that I might experience changing pedal feel but that I can stop the vehicle in any case.

Like a squeeky noise. Like it needs WD40.

Also what do you mean it's noisy? That's why you're replacing it?

Yeah, this is clearly a creeking noise that is not normal. It's loud/embarrassing. t started up a few months ago.

That's why it's a lot. The 2.7 has an EBB, so it's a booster/master cylinder/abs module all in one.
Very common for them to make noise when applying the brake pedal which is considered normal by Ford. Obviously I cant hear the noise yours is making, but don't be surprised if a new one makes the same noise.

According to the person who created the quote, the part has been redesigned 5 times...I think that you're referring to the whooshing sound. That's the normal noise that some complain about. The creeking noise is what is more annoying.

Parts get superseded all the time sometimes due to changing vendors or suppliers. Does not necessarily mean its a redesign although that could very well be the case as it changed vendors.

It’s only been superseded once. But yeah they make a handful of different noises. Maybe. It the one you have, but I was just letting you know.

I have the same issue.
It stopped when I had my ABS module/Brake Booster replaced last summer, but it is again squeaking...I also get a very slight kickback through the peddle when first applying the brakes, occasionally!
I agree, annoying and kind of JANKY!

And expensive. I have 45k miles on mine so this is coming out of my wallet. I would not like to replace this again...
