On a side note anyone with a corvette order the plant in Kentucky got hit bye the tornado there was a roof fire that caused damage and the national corvette museum got hit hard too some of the corvettes that were stored in the lot were destroyed as well I hate seeing this I a,ways loved the corvettes

That museum sure has some bad karma. The floor caved in once in a sink hole and dumped a bunch in the in the hole.

I just came back to say that as well after listening a few more times. It goes on quite a while after the engine stops.. What keeps momentum that long after the engine stops? Fans?

That’s what I thought too. Initially it was the valves that worried me, but it “winds” down long after the engine has stopped. I’ve looked in there to see, but the bay is so cluttered. And honestly I’m seeing red right now. I hope it’s some zip tie of something clanking off a fan or belt.

Sounds to me like its outside the engine. Not good, but maybe not that bad. You wouldn't hear internal engine parts spin after the engine is not running and slow down gently..

Sounds like a fan I had to replace on my girlfriend's jeep. It wasn't a recall at the time but they didn't put any grease on the fan shaft and they were wearing prematurely. Total pain in the ass. Two weeks later it was a recall.

Oh yeah. Now when we were at the dealer having them look at it prior to the recall, it was going to be a $600 job including labor. I of course reacted HOLY SHIT. I was (jokingly I think) told good labor ain't cheap. (Wasn't under warranty anymore)

I bought the fan for I think a little over $100 from them. When I went in for the refund I told them I would take cash or a check for just $600. They said the fan was only $1XX. I told them good labor ain't cheap.

Long story shorter, I received a refund for the fan only.
