Painted door handles

I like their stuff and know quality isn't cheap but currently a black replacement passive handle is $69 so $138 for a two door, painted cost from them $399.

Makes more sense if you have multiple items you want painted and source someone locally for a batch price.

NM .. price goes up when you add Smartkey/Proximity Sensors and 4 doors

When I choose the 4-door option the price I see jumps to $449. Seems like the $299 price is for the 2-door version.

Geez Loiuse.
I need to quit my day job.
*Will paint 5 handles for $175, including shipping back to you in the contiguous 48.
*Will paint anything if I can get epoxy primer to stick to it.

Meaning you received roughly $499 from two shops?
I mean, I can do them for $175.
It's not retirement-level profit, but I won't be losing money for paint/supplies already in stock here (or available within a day).
The quantity of paint needed is minimal, so it would be the cost of the paint spread out among several projects over time, which lets me be able to keep the costs down some. Same with the adhesion promoter, primer, clear coat.

Plus a sheer lack of greed and realistic approach.

I may find once I tally the costs and quantities that $175 doesn't leave much there to compensate for time. If so, I'd bump it up for subsequent jobs.

But at the cost of supplies as they stand today (and they are up an avg. of 60% from 3 yrs back), I do not see why $175 is not a reasonable, decent amount to charge for 5 handles.
$499 is robbery.

I misunderstood.
I thought the actual painting surcharge was $499.
There's plenty of places that would charge it and plenty of people that would pay it in this world, so it would not surprise me.

Thanks. I'm torn between the clean look of painted and the high durability of the factory black plastic. Assuming it's adequately UV resistant...
