Seriously fanatic idea and execution. Any drop in noise would be much appreciate too. Now I just need to find a fun blanket…. Thank you for sharing.

So you had the factory headliner and just used velcro with hooks on both sides to go right over it?

Yes that is exactly correct. I bought 6” wide rolls of Velcro, used only the hook side and cut pieces to fit that are hook on both sides. Left the factory liners in place which accepts the hook Velcro very well. Very easy to do and remove if needed.

Had an idea to brighten up the dark hard top panel liners with a damaged repurposed Pendleton blanket which reflects my heritage. Cut templates and used double sided hook (no loop) to attach the wool to the liner. It is easy to remove if needed. Fun project.

Way cool idea. Suspect it deadens a little noise as well. Gonna have to take a look at something similar. Rock on!

I did something similar back when I first got my rig, but definitely prefer your blanket to my fabric.

That does look "purdy."

QUESTION, please:
Did you have to reinforce the headliner using more adhesive ?? During the "hot days of summer" I noticed that on occasion, after a particularly hot day, some areas of the OEM headliner "dropped down." I'm thinking if there were additional weight attached to the headliner, on a hot day, would the glue soften and the headliner separate from hard top ?? And if so, what "adhesive" would you use to give it "more stick ??"

I'm tempted to try this blanket idea by sticking Siless closed cell foam to the blanket (it's super tacky, very light, and bends easily) and then just adhering 1-sided loop velcro to the Siless.

Like said above, the only thing I worry about is the factory headliner falling down because apparently that is a "thing."

Hotheads has a version of their headliner that attaches to the factory headliner with velcro. So, all these approaches are similar to that.

Not at all. I’ve never had a problem and I live in Fl where it’s hot as balls! The blanket and Velcro is so light it stays snug.

Any tips/tricks on where and how much velcro to use for the best look and function? I'm assuming you basically velcro'd the borders and randomly in the middle?

Thanks! I bought these 4” X 26’ rolls from Amazon. I searched quite a bit and these offered the best value for wide coverage. I used only the hook rolls and had to adhere one roll to another to create the double sided hook. On install I covered most areas so I could get a nice flush, smooth finish.

I was very pleased how it all turned out. Fun project that looks great and livens up the interior ceiling.
