Hello there!
Does anyone know if there has been an update to the Ford Audio system with, I don't know, even a proper equalizer? Having a vehicle like this sound like something from the 80's truly is ridiculous.

Hey @Ford - Perhaps an upgrade since swapping the deck out is practically impossible. Thanks!

I agree stock stereo sounds like the first Gen . Upgraded speakers and small amp is first thing many owners do. You could just add amp and leave speakers……would be a huge improvement. There is an EQ in the head unit though.

Lots of different threads and ways that people have cracked this particular nut. Most solid advice revolves around getting in there with Forscan and getting the stereo to not neuter the rear channels, and flattening the EQ vs the stock one that clips all the bass off at around 200-250Hz.

It's almost like instead of making the B&O sound better, they just opted to make the stock stereo sound worse.

I guess I was not considering the three band basic (treble, midrange, and bass) as a proper eq. It is bummer it is not a 7-10 band with presets for various sound types.

LOL, spot on. It's like the inverse of Spinal Tap . . . guys, if we can't make this one go to 11, at least make the other ones only go to 5!

I agree with you that it does seam a bit archaic for all of the other bells and whistles in the infotainment system.👍🏼

I bit the bullet and swapped speakers, including SSV rear pods, added amps and a stinger sub. It’s now everything it should have been.

Did you end up running different amps to front, rear, and sub, or just front and rear channels?

Sony XM 4ES is driving the the front and rear Alpines. There’s a separate amp driving the Stinger. I cannot relay how good my system sounds. It’s full and balanced front to rear.
