OP here. This old thread looks to have been trending for the past couple days. Ended up taking delivery in late October and went 25% on the fronts. It's a near perfect. Of course sometimes it looks lighter because of the windshield, which some over compensate by going with 20% (20% x 85% stock = 17%, and darker than factory rear at 22%). Glad I didnt go 20% because my town is super dark at night with these weak gas lamps in lieu of electric street lights. 25% was just right.

For Texas, current law is 25% or greater VLT for front driver and passenger windows and that is inclusive of the original factory tint. So, I suppose have to be careful when adding after-market tint to account for any factory dye in the glass. Most shops just throw the legal compliance sticker on the lower corner driver side and then no issues with passing inspections, etc. even if it's off a couple percentage points. Did you use 30% film on your Bronco in the pictures?

I’m old just remember having to pull tint of my truck when I was in high school because it was to dark

Got it as close to factory as I could. Believe 25%

Did you also tint the rear doors as well, or just the front door windows? I know the backs have tint from factory, but adding ceramic tint can help with heat/UV, just curious what people are doing and how it looks when done.

Fronts only. The rear doors and soft top are factory tint.

Does ceramic film tint look any different than regular film tint (assuming same VLT rating)?

Multi layer ceramic 5% on front windows and 15% over rear factory door windows. The soft top windows are lighter ( can’t tint soft top windows) but I’m ok with that. I always have 5% on all my vehicles.

Tint looks great.

Had to zoom in for a closer look, I thought you'd somehow managed to install the world's ugliest rooftop tent on a soft top. Only to realize you angled the photo perfectly beside that trailer 🤣
