Why not just set it on the floor? You’re not camping every day, are you?
I use the EB55 just about everyday to charge devices and having it on the floor drove me crazy. That space was otherwise empty so I thought why not put it there. Having mounted up there also makes packing and plugging stuff in so much easier.

Keep in mind there are some serious forces involved during a crash so make sure the mounting is strong enough to keep that heavy item from turning into a deadly projectile.
I tried my best to mitigate that risk with the heavy duty velcro straps and bolting it to the hardtop mounts. It's very well restrained.

I do believe this is safer than just having the battery laying on the floor with the seats down. In that case it's a free moving object.

Shouldn't that be break? :wink::)
Seems it depends on context. Are you trying to avoid hitting someone (vehicle collision) or are you trying to cut someone some slack (fist/face collision)?
