My driver window will not go down. It is hooked up and getting power and I can hear the motor try to engage both up or down depending on how I use the switch. When I close the door, it is all the way up and doesn't seal in the gasket. Rather, it closes over the top of it, which leaves a gap and lots of wind noise when driving. I don't think I can do any of the window travel reprogramming fixes, because the window won't move down or up at all, regardless which detent I use on the switch. Took it off the battery for a couple hours and then reattached it and that did not fix it either. Window will not move up or down whether the door is closed or open. There was no precipitating event that I can think of that caused this. Any ideas?

Sounds like the motor has lost contact with the mechanism that controls the movement. I haven't been inside a Bronco door, but it's typically a rubber/plastic belt or cable between the motor and regulator, or a direct-drive w/ connecting gears (probably plastic).

Definitely a warranty fix, if applicable. Otherwise, if you're not comfortable taking the door apart, a visit to a shop will be in order (though not necessarily a dealer). Body shop techs probably have the most experience in this area.

When it’s running Try holding up on the window switches and holding it like that for 10 seconds or so. That fixed mine when it was doing that and couldn’t figure out what the noise was until we realized that the window didn’t drop down and the door got shut and it was sitting like yours in that picture.

I've tried that and it doesn't work.
