I understand there’s plenty of threads but looking to get a condensed answered to

1) how long is MAP production halted and when is it expected to restart?
2) is the chip shortage or bad batch impacting all builds and are they tied to mods? i.e. Tow or Lux would have different mod and therefore have different chip

I was supposed to be week of 2/7, now I’m 2/21, so far only a 2-week delay. I do not have tow package, but do have Lux. No telling what chips are causing the delay, I just hope I don’t end up on ice mountain.

You would think they would finalize all Ice Mountain orders before adding on. Hopefully if they start production this upcoming week that means chips have arrived

Priority is to keep the production line moving. Period. End of Story. Costs too much to let it sit. MAP was scheduled to be down for two one weeks, but one has to assume it is an optimistic time frame as they don't want to tank their stock by being pessimistic.

edit; yes, I spaced out and was wrong, one week is correct as below.

It was reported as a week shutdown for the bronco plant and They also have other plant shutdowns the same week. I’m not sure I buy bad chips as I would think the modules are tested in some way in the electrical assembly plants before being shipped to final assembly. They did say in their investor report they we’re working to prioritize chips to high demand models, so hopefully they are making some moves to borrow some chips from other models to keep Bronco’s rolling. I would assume a lot of the Ford chips are interchangeable between different models.

Agree, but I only saw a report that it would be shutdown the week of 2/7. Did they say it was also shutdown the week of 2/14?

According to the Ice Mountain stats, all builds are impacted. Statistically, the distribution of held Broncos is very close to reported orders.

Ford has not yet made any statement one way or another about the week of 2/14. Leaving their options open. If they are going to stay shut down, I think we'll hear about it today.

My latest bump, after the 4 prior, was from 2/7 build to 2/22. Makes sense given the delay and hopefully stays put. Also cannot imagine Ford continuing to build then have deliveries delayed for 4 months to only sit in lot so hopefully we’ll see ours move from built to delivery in a normal time frame…whatever normal means nowadays

It doesn't require a lot of imagination, they did exactly that last fall.

I'm reading some articles today, claiming the Canadian border trucker blockade thing, is also a factor in the production shutdowns.

Man what's next for Bronco, a large meteor strike or earthquake?!

Mine was built the second week of January. It is stuck on the lot because of the chip shortage and the original date it should have been delivered was 2/7/22, now it is telling me 5/7/22
