Okay, not happening to everyone, but this seems to be all the rage lately amongst dealers trying to get maximum money for minimum effort.
Dealer informs customer: "Sorry, your VIN has been cancelled, we're going to have to convert your order from a 2021 to a 2022. You'll be the first in line for a 2022 though..."
Twice, in the past two days, I have caught dealerships doing just that... They think that they can convince their customer that this happened and then sell a very valuable First Edition or Loaded Badlands to someone either they know will pay a massive premium or will be able to put on the lot with some crazy ADM.
