Hi, hoping this is the right forum.

But I want to take my new Bronco to the dunes this weekend. Originally I was going to go with my dad, where I would be fine, but he might bail, so I might meet a friend that lives in Pismo and head out. In short, I want to know If I will die and my bronco be claimed by the sea as I saw in one forum  I will take any advice, tips, tricks, you have lol I have a 2023 Bronco Sport Big Bend with 1.5" lift and 245/65/17 (I think lol) Mickey Thompson Baja Bosses off road tires, and of course Sand mode on the broncy. I have done off roading on other types of vehicles (ATVs & go karts) but not my bronco and dont want to be stranded, die, and claimed by the sea LOL I plan on hitting the beach and dunes.

Thank youuuuuuu for your time & advice 💙

Welcome to the Bronco/Bronco Raptor forums.

You’re best bet would be to post in the Bronco Sport forums for a better response.

Other than that, come prepared with a shovel, recovery boards, and gear.

So your dad doesn’t want to be seen in the bronco sport.

All you should need is to air down to 15 psi or so, put it in 4wd and you’ll be fine. Plenty other people will be there to give you a tow if needed.

Yes, those tires, 15 psi and AWD will allow you to safely explore a bunch of the dunes. Have fun. Get your feel for the hills slowly and always turn down early when doing a berm type run along a hill (just like the ATVs you've driven). Also, get a flag and flag mount ASAP (good luck before the weekend) as they are required and greatly improve safety via better visibility.

Quite a few others (in regular Broncos) have noted better performance on sand, not using a sand (or slippery) mode. You might have to play with modes if the vehicle doesn't seem to be performing properly.

Drive slow and as little as possible on the pavement until you get your tires back up to a normal street pressure - or borrow inflation near the exit from someone.

It'll be a blast. Have fun.
